The MCARBO trigger spring kit has converted an awful trigger on my Remington 597 into a decent one and my group size has improved. The quality of the spring kit is excellent and was easy to install and the price was also very reasonable.
Well made product! I added it the same time I added my Volquartsen hammer and extractor! It works flawlessly and really seems to have improved the smoothness of the trigger pull as well as accuracy! Also, the price is great creates a no risk scenario for a cautious buyer.
The kit reduced the trigger pull and made the sear release smoother. Passed the safety drop test with ease. For maximum improvement replace the hammer as well. Delivery was quick and the quality of the replacement parts is excellent.
Too bad the spring-hammer kit wasn't available, I ended up buying the hammer somewhere else but the spring and aluminum bushings sure improved pull and smooth travel.
Today I installed the Mcarbo Remington 597 trigger spring kit with a Volquartsen hammer. The best trigger pull I got was 3Lbs. 3ozs. I've bought a few items from Mcarbo and have seen improvement, but never to the degree that they state in their listing or show and state in their videos.
I was disappointed that the kit that included the hammer was not available but I decided to get the spring anyway. I guessed, incorrectly, that the Volquartsen target hammer in conjunction with the MCARBO spring would yield the same results as the YouTube video and it did not...barely a 1lb trigger pull difference.
I just completed the installation of the 597 trigger spring kit which also included the new hammer. Everything received was as promised and shipping follow up and installation instructions were outstanding. I have not yet had an opportunity to fire the rifle, but it feels so much better with just the snap caps, that it can't help but improve my accuracy. My next project is trigger improvement of a Tikka Hunter, and it is a pleasure to work with such a fine company.
Mcarbo spring kit really helped my 597!!! Lowered the trigger pull by 3 lbs and trigger is a lot crisper!!!! Well worth the money. Want to try the mcarbo hammer next!!!!
Yes I’m one of the many foolish shooters who tried to save a few bucks on a .22LR and went Remington 597 instead of the ever reliable Ruger 10/22. Oh well. Thanks to MCARBO, I have a better shooting and better feeding experience.
I am not a gunsmith, and was a little apprehensive about doing this little project. Thanks to instructions on this site, it was a piece of cake. I also installed the Volquartsen target hammer at the same time, and the extractor. I wish I had the same help from VolQuartsen as I did from M*Carbo. It is a different rifle. From 5.4 lbs, with lots of creep, to a crisp, yet safe, 1.9 lbs. I drop checked it from 6in to 18 in on a hard floor, with no ADs. (No it wasn't loaded)😂
This kit was easy to install and it both reduced the trigger pull and made it smoother. Thanks MCarbo!
The trigger spring upgrade was easy to install and has made a noticeable decrease in the trigger pull. I recommend this product.
A tighter fit with the bushings and factory hammer than I anticipated,however once I got it in and moved the hammer back and forth a few times with some Tuf-Glide things improved greatly. Firing with this kit and a Volquartson extracter made this rifle a real pleasure to shoot. My 9 year old Nephew shooting a Scoped 22 for the first time with this rifle had no trouble with trigger pull and shooting tight groups at 50M
I have two 597's and after installing this kit on the first one I ordered and kit for the second 597. Great reduction in trigger pull which makes shots easier to stay on target.
