I finally had a chance to try out my 597 yesterday. The MCARBO trigger kit significantly enhances the trigger feel, and as a result, I'm able to shoot more consistent groups. I've had the gun for more than a decade, and now it's a "new" favorite plinking rifle again. Thanks again for making a quality product.

I installed the hammer spring kit on my Remington 597 last week. After a range session that saw me send 200 rounds downrange I have to say the kit made a real difference in the trigger pull. The groups shrunk and I am happy with that. You can't go wrong installing this kit. The 597 is not an expensive rifle so the price of the kit won't blow your budget but it will increase the fun factor of using the 597.

instruction video is somewhat deceptive

I ordered the trigger spring kit, and it did come with what was stated on the order page. However, I watched the installation instruction video which said the Super Lube and a Drop in Alignment Tool were in the package, but they weren't. For the alignment tool I used a toothpick broken to size. For the super lube I used gun grease. The video was confusing at times as the presenter kept switching the gun back and forth, but I figured it out. The bottom line it improved the trigger pull a little, but it doesn't seem to be 2 lbs. or less. I don't think it was worth the frustration or the money. It's just my opinion though.

It helped

It was extremely easy to install and I had it completed and reassembled within 5-10 minutes. but, it only reduced my trigger pull by 1 lb. It was a 6lb trigger previously and after I installed the new spring it is at 5lbs now, I was hoping to have it around 3lbs. but I guess I will install the new hammer which should get it closer

job well done

Took 10 mins to fit spring kit and it improved the trigger pull and accuracy no end. (should have changed the stock spring ages ago).

Excellent product and will recommend to other 597 users

Lighter trigger and smoother charging too!

I installed this in conjunction with a Volquartsen hammer in my Remington 597, and WHAT A DIFFERENCE! The trigger started at roughly 7-8lbs and was reduced to a consistent 2.5 lbs.

The rifle was purchased new and now has over 700 rounds through it with zero cleaning and zero* hiccups.

*[Some questionable Rem Cyclone ammo was given to me and I have no idea how old it is or how it was stored. It produced many failure to fires even though the cartridge showed nice deep firing pin strikes.]

Outside of this bogus ammo, the rifle has never malfunctioned using everything from mini-mag to el-cheapo bulk pack garbage ammo.

As an added bonus, the reduced hammer spring weight makes charging the rifle much smoother feeling.

Even though my rifle was new and the trigger pin bushing hadn't been worn yet, the aluminum replacements smoothed out the trigger and look as if they'll stay smooth through high round counts.

I highly recommend this trigger upgrade!

Very easy install. Haven't used it out doors but a few safe dry fires gave me the immediate feeling of the lowered trigger pull.

Finally had time to install your kit, along with a Volquartzen hammer. All of fifteen minutes, start to finish. Niiiiiiice. The tonnage on the .22wmr trigger went from a factory 4 pound, 12 ounces, to a 1 pound, ten ounce pull. Going to be a much nicer little shooter. Thanks for the product and moreover, thank you and all Veterans for your service for our country.

The kit arrived within a week of ordering and I had it installed that night. It went in exactly as the installation video showed. As I have no trigger pull gauge I can only state that the trigger pull was noticeably reduced from the heavy trigger the gun came with. A trip to the range confirmed my first impression. Gone was the hard release, replaced with a pleasent light press that released right where I wanted it to break. A total delight, money well spent.

The Remington 597 Trigger Spring Kit, was easy to install, and now I have a clean crisp 2 pound trigger pull. While sighting the gun in I was consistently putting 5 rounds into a single hole .225 inches in diameter.

I must say that your MCARBO Trigger Spring Kit (with a couple of parts from Volquartsen) vastly improved my Remington 597 (standard barrel).

Also, I informed several individuals at my two most frequented gun ranges all about it and highly recommended they "enhance" their Remington rifles too.

Thank you so much for your products, André B Thomas.

Much better touch

The 597 is a functionally superior rifle to the 10-22. It has last shot bolt lock and a better stock. Like the 10-22, the 597 stock trigger leaves a lot to be desired. Add the MCARBO spring and a Volquartsen hammer to reduce the pull and improve the feel of your 597 trigger. You will have better accuracy when target shooting.

My 597 Mag. trigger pull was5# even. After the trigger kit it is a perfect 3.5# pull.

When I wrote my review of the Mcarbo 597 spring kit I was focused on the additional let-off of the trigger sear that I forgot to mention one of the most important advantages of the Mcarbo spring. I mentioned that when properly installed the hammer rests left past vertical whereas with the Remington spring the hammer is vertical. The important thing to note is the Mcarbo spring applies pressure to the hammer PAST vertical and consequent gives a more aggressive hit to the firing pin and cartridge primer and the F-to-F (Fail to Fire) problem disappears!

Inspection of fired cases shows the definite difference between the Remington spring/firing pin primer "dimple" vs. the more aggressive firing pin dent caused by the Mcarbo spring!
