Great product, awesome quality, fast shipping and very helpful staff. This mag release button is a huge upgrade to the stock part. You don't have to push the stock button into the chassis again.

Well the stock magazine release is just horrible. I was running a TK magazine release but the thing was so large, seemed like every time my hand near it I ejected the magazine accidentally. Switched to the mcarbo release and problem solved. Sticks out just the right amount and very easy to access. Fit and finish on this product was perfect. As far as installation it is a precision fit and just like the TK release just jiggle it a little bit while you're tightening it down so that it finds its right spot and works flawlessly!!!

the extra hieght of this magazine release button makes a world of difference in finding and releasing the magazine from the rifle. When releasing the mag you do not have to go fishing for the release like you do with the original.

Installed the Extended Magazine Release and was a simple 45 second job. Then I wanted to change the Rugar magazine insert to the Glock insert and found that the new Extended Magazine Release would not allow the release to move enough to clear the factory catch to pull the insert from the well. Inspection found that the Mcarbo release has a cut recess where the release pin sets into the new release button. The original Ruger release button has no cut recess on the button so the release rod can be pushed in further into the gun, allowing the insert to be released.

MAJOR improvement over stock

The Ruger PC Carbine is a fine rifle but the the hard-to-activate stock magazine release is a serious flaw, it is awful. The MCARBO button is very good; VASTLY better than the stock mag release. One fine aspect of the MCARBO product is the knurling pattern. It looks good in the photos on the web site but its mere appearance does not convey how effective it is. Though the knurling is low profile, it is really grabby, remarkably so. You can not fail to notice it and it arrests your thumb or finger right where it needs to be. I believe it will be effective even with gloves, or wet or oily hands. This small accessory makes a very large difference in the utility and ergonomics of the rifle. As many others have mentioned, installation is very easy. I recommend that, while you have the button off, lubricate the internal sliding parts of the mag release mechanism. In the case of mine, these parts were insufficiently lubricated from the factory which was making the stock button function even worse.

Mixed feelings on a PC Charger

I had this on my PC Carbine and on my PC Charger. Well made. Good value, Easy installation. HOWEVER..... on my Charger, my off hand grips the weapon around/under the front of the magwell. Because of that, the more pronounced height of this extended release will sometime cause the gun to go out of batter as the magazine gets slightly released due to my thumb pressing on it inadvertently. I had had another brand of extended release on it prior, and it had the same issue. I even tried swapping the M*CARBO one to the right side of the weapon and it still happens. So I ended up going back to the stock mag release and trying to be more careful with my grip. But I do not know how anyone else grips a PC Charger any differently that is effective. I have a weapon light mount on the underside of the barrel shroud, so I cannot (and will not) do the "Thumb over the top, extreme TactiCool grip" as that is just not practical with such a short weapon. Don't get me wrong, the M*CARBO extended mag release is a fine piece of kit, but did not work out for me on my PC Charger, simply because of how I grip the weapon.

Finally the functionality I had hoped Ruger would have thought about. Your weapon is serious business. This upgrade reduces fumbling around for the release button. Simple install. Quality part.
