Replaced the springs with the trigger, and it's a huge improvement!
Installed this in a second Savage 64 that I obtained. It is an absolute must along with the trigger. The firearm was already fun to shoot, but adding these items really enhances the performance and ups the accuracy. Follow the instructional video and installing this and the trigger will be a no-brainer. The bennies are crisp trigger, better reset, and less pull required.
Just purchased the new Savage 64 Precision (MSRP $299) and it's worth every cent and much more. However, it doesn't have the Accu-Trigger like my B22 Precision. After checking, I discovered MCarbo made a spring set to reduce trigger pull weight, so I decided to try it. Got the springs today (prompt shipping) and cleared my bench for installation. The reset spring was a breeze to install, but the Sear spring was a challenge. The TV video explains the process quite well, but in reality, it can be frustrating replacing the pin (see the video) and to finally get everything aligned, it took nearly 30-minutes. I'm not upset at all, but I'm sure the gun used in the video was not brand new and stiff. But a big thank you to MCarbo. I've been a customer for a number of years, purchased products and parts for numerous guns. Beeeee
I installed the savage model 64 trigger spring kit, and used the MCARBO instructional video. The installation process was smooth. I love the lower trigger pull poundage that I have now. I highly recommend this update if you have a Savage model 64.
Kit is easy to install and really does reduce the pull. It is now Appleseed ready!
Installed in my son's rifle, along with the trigger. Simple installation and lowered pull about 2 pounds. The boy likes it and has more confidence in taking the shot. Shipping was fast and I am a happy customer.
This spring kit is awesome. Everyone should have it installed
I finally got down to the range to try out my Savage 64 after installing the trigger spring kit. The best group I had with the ammo the rifle liked was 1.580'at 50 yds. before the kit was installed, and the group was 1.230" after installing the trigger spring kit. The group was also more uniform. This was with CCI Blazer ammo, so with a match grade ammo, it might be even better. It also was windier for the second test, so groups could be even better. I am certainly pleased.
Love the pull reduction, I wish it could be lower and I wish you could have a new trigger with less pre travel. It woudl make the shooting even more accurate. Besides that, GREAT PRODUCT!
Installed the kit in my Savage 64, and turned my plinker into a target rifle. Well worth twice what I paid! A huge improvement, and easy to install. Thanks
Parts arrived quickly and fit perfectly. Awesome customer service.
Installed these and the replacement trigger on a brand new Savage 64. The trigger pull is much improved - about two pounds lighter on an un-fired new rifle! I was unable to line up the trigger spring loops with the pass-through pin following the instruction video which suggested use of the 1/16 punch. Instead, I ran two loops of thin monofilament fishing line through the two loops of the spring. Using the fishing line to properly locate the loops in the spring for the pass-through pin made the installation a breeze. Once the pin was properly installed I cut one side of each fishing line loop and the line pulled completely out - no problem.
This spring set succeeds in reducing the pull weight. What is needed for the Savage 64 is a complete unit like the drop-in trigger systems made for the Ruger 10/22. The problem is that such a unit would cost more than the rifle! This spring kit makes sense for a budget rifle like the 64. It's a terrific little knock-around rifle that delivers real value.
Great part install in minutes
Recieved my kit and installed them into my rifle. Was very easy. XL followed the video. Rifle was all back together in 30mins. The trigger was excellent. You can not beat the price either. Thank you for some great parts !!!
