Installing the trigger kit for the S&W Shield was easy following the video guide. Reduced the trigger pull from 6.5# down to 4.5#. This installation & polishing certainly helps remove the grittiness from the trigger pull.

The video is one of the best out there for the Shield. Did all the polishing and installed the kit for my buddy's birthday. He was in awe of the difference. A must have upgrade from a company that provides the best in products and communication.

To conceal carry in California I prioritized ability to conceal when choosing a weapon, so I chose the M&P Shield 9mm. But because of the trigger pull feeling like I was pulling a cow through the mud to get the gun to fire, I had terrible shooter anticipation. I was MUCH more accurate with the crisp trigger of my HK USP .45. The M-Carbo trigger kit for the M&P Shield and the polishing has changed everything. The M&P Shield trigger now has an obvious reset position and the trigger pull is crisp and precise. The shooter anticipation is gone. I am now proud to show off my targets.

The how-to video was EXCELLENT. I just followed every step. It was a lot of work, but very well worth it! I took longer than the video because I added deep cleaning steps while I had the gun all apart.

Great product. You have boosted my accuracy and therefore my confidence as a protector of my loved ones. Thank you.

The video was great, however, the process as depicted was much harder to perform. The results are better then before not as good as I had hoped. Final trigger break point is about 4.5 lbs - initial was 7.8 lbs. Putting everything back provided a good lesson in "patience

I had previously stoned the sear and polished all moving parts. The addition of these springs made my mpshield buttery smooth. It is a joy to shoot. Quick service I highly recommend these parts.

First off i ordered the wrong part for my gun. As soon as i realized i had made a mistake i emailed the company in hopes to catch my screw up before the wrong kit was shipped. The response time for my email was super fast and my mistake was fixed in time. A few days later my kit arrived. I waited until Saturday morning to start my install so that i would have all the time needed to upgrade my gun. I watched the video and proceeded to dismantle my firearm. In no time i had completely dismantled my gun, sanded, buffed, and polished all the parts necessary. I began putting everything back together and WOW, what a huge difference...i was really surprised by how much of a difference this upgrade would make. I highly recommend this upgrade to everyone with a stiff trigger. This is by far one of my favorite hand guns now...thanks for the super fast fix/response to my order mistake and a huge thanks for the superior shipping for the uograde i so badly needed....you guys deserve much more than five stars....i give you 10 stars...very pleased with my results...thanks again

I have a Shield 2.0 and I was looking to upgrade the trigger to an Apex, but didn’t want to spend 1/2 of the price of the firearm on a trigger. Then I found this spring upgrade kit for $19.99 and decided to try this first hoping to get the smooth, crisp and lighter pull that I seek. And if it didn’t work, oh well, it was only $20. But OH MAN IS THE DIFFERENCE AMAZING! No need to buy a new trigger, this spring kit does the job. I literally finished the install 5 minutes ago and I am blown away by how smooth and buttery the trigger pull and reset is. I didn’t even polish. I only wet sanded. I don’t have a trigger pull scale but it’s easily half the weight than before. Install was also a breeze with the video to follow. However I recommend getting a sight pusher for the rear sight, especially if removing the rear sight for the first time. This kit is by far my most favorite upgrade to any of my firearms ever: period.

MCarbo just got a customer for life and I’m looking to upgrade my other pistols as well.

Underwhelmed

So after getting several emails begging me to write a review I figured I would in hopes the emails would stop. I have had my S&W Shield 1.0 for quite a few years now and it has been my EDC since purchase. I really like the gun but was always unhappy with the trigger and the amount of effort needed to pull the trigger. I looked at several other companies offerings but they were quite expensive and I just am not in a position to spend hundreds on a new trigger for this gun. So then a stumbled on M*CARBO. I liked that it stated I could reduce the trigger pull effort by quite a lot and only for $25! So I ordered the kit and received it 3 days later. The kit seemed to be made up of good quality parts and packaged nicely. I couldn't do the kit immediately but did get to it this weekend. The video of how to breakdown the pistol and install the parts is outstanding 5 stars in fact. It was very easy taking the gun apart and installing the parts. Now for the results. The trigger is definitely smoother without any bumpiness as it had prior to replacing the parts and polishing everything. I had also bought a trigger pull scale previously for another gun I was modifying and used it on my Shield before installing the kit. It was an abysmal 7.5# and really not smooth. So I was thinking WOW how is this kit going to reduce that down to the advertised "modified 2.5#"??? Well I went ahead and did a bunch of pulls with the scale and the lowest reading I got was 5.5#'s? That isn't anywhere near the advertised "modified 2.5#" pull. So I am very much underwhelmed by this kit. I was really hoping to experience the 2.5# trigger but ended up with only a 5.5-6# trigger. The parts are quite nice as I stated, shipping was quick, and the installation video was outstanding. The performance of the parts on the other hand well the numbers don't lie. So for $25 it was worth giving it a shot. I will be looking at getting the other companies upgraded trigger at a significant higher cost and hoping it works better.

I purchased the MCARBO kit for my S&W Gen 1 Shield in 9mm. My original trigger was around 7.5#. I did all that the video required, used the 1000 grit, polished and lightly oiled the surfaces of the trigger bar. I removed the stock trigger and put in an APEX trigger, hoping to enhance the function of the trigger pull. My weight of pull after all was said and done is 5.5#, not even close to 55% reduction, which should be in the area of 4 to 4.1#'s. The trigger pull is no longer mushy, and seems quite crisp, but it is still heavy by the standards that were promised. I should have saved my money and just lived with the trigger pull as it was, after all it is a defensive, carry pistol and the heavy pull adds to the safety of the gun.

I received my spring kit and couldn't wait to do the upgrade on the trigger. Following Chris on the video was very helpful and made the installation easy. After the sanding and polishing, the trigger pull and reset is much smoother. Very happy with the way the trigger pull feels now and it showed up at the range yesterday. Thanks Chris for putting a great step by step video together

I bought this kit for my .40 cal. and the feed ramp polishing kit. I followed every step shown in the video and then some. I did all the polishing by hand on all the parts to a lustrous shine. According to my wheeler tool it reduced my trigger pull from 5.4lbs. to a sweet 3.2lbs. The trigger went from a sort of sloppy pull to a crisp take up and snap. Ammo feeds flawlessly. I swear I even shoot straighter now : o)

Very sweet deal, fast shipping, and a great kit which I highly recommend.

Spoiler alert: fantastic results!

The installation was a little more involved than simply swapping out some springs, mainly because of the design of the S&W Shield (especially that striker block). I'll admit I was a bit intimidated when I saw that the instructional video ran more than an hour, but it's mostly because of time spent polishing. I did the polishing in much less time with some slightly more powerful tools, but it still turned out great. Also, the video does not show how to deal with a safety (as mine has)---I'd suggest someone add that info, as this makes the sear block harder to get in and out.

The trigger pull is now incredibly light and smooth; it was legally-mandated heavy and terrible before, since I live in the People's Republic of Massachusetts. I'm actually very glad I have a safety on mine, as this might otherwise be too light for carry now. I don't have a trigger pull gauge, but this is probably 3 lbs or less after the work.

In live-fire testing, the gun functioned almost perfectly; however, there were a few light primer strikes on reloads with S&B Large Pistol Primers and Remington Small Rifle Primers (used because of the primer shortage), both of which are notoriously hard primers. Winchester, Federal, and CCI primers all worked 100%. This is a common issue with any trigger job that reduces pull by this much, so not a total surprise.

One issue with packaging, of all things: my sear spring got lost up inside the striker spring, then fell out on the floor while working on the gun. It took a while to find it! Might be nice to pack the springs in separate mini-ziploc bags, just to prevent this from happening.
