Bought my carbine brand new. after a few reviews suggested some upgrades I purchased this item and installed it on a rife with less than 10 rounds fired. no noticeable difference
I put the M*Carbo PC Carbine Exact Edge Extractor in this weekend. Spent the morning at the gun club giving it a workout. Worked great with no glitches. Not only was my brass extracted perfectly. It all landed in a very small area. That wasn't the case (no pun intended) prior to installation. The brass was flying everywhere. Since I reload a lot of my 9mm brass, this is a real plus. Easy installation. Watch Cris's videos. They are without a doubt best I've seen for making positive changes to your firearms. Thanks Cris and the M*Carbo Brotherhood!
Fixed FTE problems that made PC9 unusable. One two three fix.
Before I even shit my then new PCC, I ordered and replaced the factory extractor with MCARBO’s exact edge extractor. Comparing two brand new parts side-by-side together was an amazing eye-opener to say the least. The Ruger’s extractor appeared to have very dull edges in the “claw” portion itself. They looked “rounded to me and this is something one NEVER wants in any firearm’s extractor. You need a crisp and sharp edged, defined “claw” cut out on an extractor, in order to really yank out the spent shell casing. MCARBO’s extractor is PERFECT!
As advertised! No stove pipes, no jams. Get the pins too.
Easily replaced the factory extractor, immediately fixed the "stove pipe" ejection problem. Put about 200 rounds through it and not a single case stove piped.
Extractor is exactly as advertised, split pice with outstanding quality and attention to detail. Installed without a hitch. The photo is dude by side with the Ruger Factory extractor (700 rounds)
My Ruger PC Carbine worked great for the first 1200 rounds then it gradually had more and more stovepipe malfunctions to the point where it happened on four of six USPSA stages ruining my match fun. Researched the issue, then chose and installed the M*CARBO exact edge extractor. Next match no mechanical malfunctions. Now if I could just eliminate the cranial malfunctions! Great product that should be on these carbines out of the factory.
I'm glad this piece exists. I've not worn out the original, so I have not put this in my carbine. But, this seems to be wear spot that will cause stovepipes one day. Thanks for the back-up.
Thank you for such wonderful and well engineered parts ….. parts that give me a much improved sense of reliability with the PC9.
I’ve had two of these installed into my gun as well as the upgraded pins from Mcarbo. The extractor claw cracked both times within the first few magazines. Seems like a decent idea but they just haven’t perfected the design. This extractor claw is in no way as durable as they make it out to be. So far the oem extractor has ran 100% and I’m now giving up on the 0-2 Mcarbo extractor. Pretty upset but it is what it is. Another company makes one that I’ll try when it’s back in stock.
This part was a super easy drop-in install. Definitely a better quality than the stock part I replaced.
Perfect in form fit and fuction, would buy again. Oh yeah, it looks great on the carbine.
I love my pcc but was having periodic FTE. I tried various types of ammo and replaced the ejector and extractor with factory parts. The FTE's continued until I installed M-CARBO'S extractor...field tested and approved over the last 2 weeks and 500 or so rounds with NO FTE!
I installed this extractor and fired 250+ rounds using five different brands of target ammo (115 and 124 grain). Everything extracted perfectly with zero malfunctions. You can visually see the quality improvement when comparing side-by-side with the Ruger factory part. The MCarbo extractor has a larger "hook" and definitely looks much stronger.
I was having a ton of issues with failure to eject and failure to feed malfunctions with the traditional takedown stock/version of the PC Carbine right out of the box. I swapped this part out alone and it seemed to correct everything immediately. I fired 250 rounds without interruption with various rates of fire. I’m super happy with the result of this swap. I’m going to buy more parts just to see what else can be achieved even though I’m already 100% happy with the results of this replacement. Get this part of you even have one stove pipe failure.
