lost round count at around 4200, still rolling.
The stock extractor was pivoting the fired case rearward and bouncing off the rear of the ejection port smashing the cases, with the MCARBO extractor the fired cases eject straight out about ten feet and land in the same spot like they should.
After 3k+ rounds through gun i would notice the occasional stove pipe and erratic ejection pattern, installed extractor and ran a local uspsa match with zero problems and a very clean ejection pattern, highly recommend
Stellar product that made me smile when I saw the difference. You won't regret this buy
Cannot believe how crappily made the stock Ruger part is in comparison. Surprised the stock one even worked at all! Easy install.
If you only want to do one upgrade for your PC carbine, than this is it! After 5-6k rounds, I started to get FTE and FTF at the worst possible times. Finally, I took my carbine apart, and cleaned alot of gunk out. I also removed the cheap factory extractor. It barely had any hook left. No wonder I was having so much trouble. I had the exact same problem with my 10/22. Ruger puts really crappy extractors in both guns. The MCARBO extractor looks like absolute quality and maximum functionality. I’m tired of burning precious seconds during a match, so I’m going with the very best quality I can get.
I love my Charger, but was having Failure To Ejects (stovepiping) every single mag right out of the box. The Interwebs told me this was common, and that this MCarbo part was the solution - and boy is it ever! #1 Installation took about 15 minutes with the help of MCarbo’s YouTube vids, and it was also a great way to learn about the Charger’s inner workings. #2 No more FTEs! 10 mags, running both FMJ and JHP, and not a single hiccup.
This and the bolt and extractor pin set is a must! Once my PC9 started to stove pipe I started searching for a solution. The PC9 will run fine for about 1000 rounds or so and the wear and tear starts to affect the function. Replace them now or latter, your choice.
Immediate improvment over factory part.
Last PCC match was having failure to extract malfunctions every other mag. Quick easy swap and shot match yesterday ran 100% no malfunctions. Much better made with much better steel
The PCC Exact Edge Extractor is a must have upgrade to replace the OEM stock extractor. This is a high quality part made of stronger longer lasting material that will last much longer than the stock extractor. A must for those who use their Ruger PC Carbines in USPSA and Steel Challenge matches.
After reading all the issues with failures to eject I ordered the M*Carbo extractor. Install was easy with the help of the install videos. Just got back from the range. I put 100 rounds through with zero failures. Just get it, it's worth it.
Works great! Makes one wonder what the **** Ruger was thinking. What's the point of selling a gun with parts that last ~750 rounds and fail only on MATCH DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have put about 500 rounds through my PC, and as predicted, suddenly started having occasional ejection problems. At first I thought it was ammo related (and some of it may have been) but an inspection of the extractor showed more-than expected wear. The factory extractor is simply not up to the task. I just installed the new extractor so I cannot comment on its durability but my experience with other machinery leads me to expect a long term improvement. A part like an extractor should be made of tool steel, it is really the only proper choice.
The factory extractor is trash, this part is almost a must in my opinion. Especially if you are trusting your life with this firearm or shooting competition. No reason to chance a malfunction.
