Trigger spring replacement was much more difficult than shown on the video demonstration. The pin would not slide out the same way, and the plastic guide did not work. I finally resorted to using the micro-tip screwdriver to gently nudge the spring up to capture the pin. The second one was much easier. Haven't had a chance to fire either one yet, but the trigger pull feels much better.
Worked as stated, video was helpful, Mcarbo shipped first thing on a Monday. I would buy product again and will use Mcarbo again
Recently installed the spring kit on my smith& wesson sd9 right out of the package i noticed the trigger spring was missing a loop on one end contacted customer service sent in a photo of the spring and sent a replacement right out GREAT FOLKS TO DEAL WITH THANKS
Customer was very happy with results. Trigger pull went from factory of almost 10 lbs. to 6.5 lbs. with the installation of the kit. I have a concern about lightening trigger pulls using a kit especially on a CCW firearm that there is a possibility of misfires from a too light trigger pull. As a gunsmith and retire LEO I have to know that the firearm will function 100% when needed most.
I just received my new trigger spring assembly for my sd40ve and I love it I can’t wait to go to the range with it. The trigger pull is noticeably lower and it was super easy to install. The video explaining how to install it was very simple to follow and understand. All in all I think this was a great buy and I definitely recommend this site to many of my gun loving friends
This spring kit was not only easy to install, (I just followed along with the video) but there is a physically noticeable change to trigger pull. The alignment tool provided makes even a novice gun enthusiast feel like a master tech!
20 bucks doesn’t get you very much these days, but that couldn’t be further from the truth with this spring kit, or the fast and friendly service from MCarbo! They even provide a helpful install video to top it off. My SD9VE trigger is so smooth! It truly Shoots & feels like a different gun. I’m very impressed. Couldn’t be happier! Thanks Mcarbo!
Kit is very easy to install and well worth the cost of reducing the trigger pull on both weapons. I have installed the kit on my SD40VE the only tricky part is the trigger spring reassembly. My tool was too thin and I have to use a broken toothpick to install. The spring will move as the video states but a dental pick or the M carbo installation tool both work to pull it back. Do not strike the holding pin hard with the hammer in case its not all the way through you will brake the hole loop on the trigger tap lightly.
I used and installed the trigger spring kit for the SD9VE and it make a Huge difference in the trigger pull. The striker spring and the striker block springs were easy, but the trigger spring gave me problems even with the installation tool. I had to use a stainless steel cleaning pick to hold the trigger spring before it slid off the installation tool. I held the spring with the pick and pushed the pin through so it would not be trapped in the trigger in front of the pin. The spring kit makes the SD9VE feel of the trigger pull, like it is a new gun. Better to hold on target and no hand shaking from the hard trigger pull, or pull down shots. GREAT PRODUCT AND I FULLY RECOMMEND GETTING IT.
Followed you tube video while installing and works perfectly. I do wish i purchased gun block. I used a towel, it worked, but wobbly.
The trigger pull was so bad, you could not hit the target at 5 yards. A gunsmith put the replacement springs in the pistol. the triggerpull is still is long but it is greatly improved, feels like it cut 4# off the pull weight. Buying the spring kit and installing it on your pistol is money well spent. The gunsmith that installed it is going tell his customers that have this pistol about the kit
Have yet to have a range day but after installing this kit, I now can tell I’m going to love my SD40VE. Nice reduction in trigger pull and a clean crisp break. I know this is a S&W budget firearm but this is how this trigger should have felt from the factory. Very satisfied with the fast shipping and customer follow up.
I installed this kit because of the notoriously bad trigger feel on the sd9. Made a world of difference!
