Was considering trading in my FNS. But after no polishing and just the kit I reduced the trigger pull from 7lbs to 4.75…I will keep this gun not only in my collection but into my rotation for CCW.
I purchased a apex trigger and was looking up YouTube videos on how to install the trigger and Mcarbo.com was I of the first videos to pop up. During which I Realized that my trigger from Apex did not include all the different springs that this video was installing. I quickly went to there site and ordered the kit on a Monday and Received it by Thursday. The apex trigger helped out but the huge difference I felt was after I installed the spring kit!! This kit is worth it, I can not believe the difference it has made in my pistol, not to mention super fast shipping, great customer service, and supporting our vets!!
Purchased this spring set with the hope that it will improve the firing of my FN 509 Tactical, over the very firm feel of the stock spring setup... I figure this is an inexpensive attempt to do this vs that of an APEX setup... I have done limited shooting with this setup due to the ammo situation, but so far there is very noticeable improvement in trigger pull... Install is not at all difficult thanks to the video by M*Carbo, and others...
I didn’t see any great improvements in my FN 509 LS Edge’s trigger pull weight or smoothness as a result of installing this kit. In fact I did it in 2 phases with the springs in the slide being changed first, which might have slightly improved my trigger. But I waited about 2 months before installing the MCarbo lighter sear and disconnector springs and I know they made no difference to my trigger pull. It’s all good though because my 509 LS Edge actually had a pretty good trigger to start with so I was just seeing if I would get a bit better trigger with the MCarbo kit -and that’s about what I got.
Very happy with the product and installation was simple thanks to the video.
Quick easy install.
Got this kit for my new 509 tactical. Is a great kit. Didn't get to use the sear spring. The leg was too long to be put into the correct position. But the kit with a good trigger job and apex triggee got me a great 3.56 lb average trigger pull. So no complaints besides the sear spri g.
Kit makes a very noticeable difference, gir the good. Much better feel and trigger pull. I combined this with the Apex trigger for a perfect combo. Very enjoyable shooting experience.
I've installed these in bot my FN509 and FN509T, what a difference. I love this place!
Had a 7 pound trigger before installing and have a 7 pound trigger after installation maybe a little smoother its hard to tell with out having them side by side
I have 509 one Tactical and Compact. Both have the Apex trigger on them. Both trigger internal have been all polished. The Tactical started out with 4.5lbs trigger pull. with the slide springs went to 3-3.25lbs. with the Sear Spring, Disconnector Spring, down to 3- 2.75lbs. (Also removed the grittiness, feel of the trigger take up). The compact started out with 4.5-4.8lbs trigger pull. with the slide springs down to 3.5lbs. With the Sear Spring, Disconnector Spring, down to 3.25 -3lbs. The best $20 upgrade for the $$$
I installed it in my FNS 40 LS, the video direction make installation very doable. The trigger pull is much smoother and lighter, I am very happy with the results
You need to have the breakdown block to make it easier to get the pins out but they’re not necessary. Spring kit is pretty easy to put in even for guys with huge hands like me. FN made their 509 a common sense assembly for the most part. It worked great at the range with my new apex trigger.
This is a great kit - best option out there to cheaply and easily get the FN 509's trigger smooth, light(er), and crisp. The factory trigger is absolutely terrible. I am not sure what they were thinking here. MCARBO's kit takes 30 min to install (watch their video).
Installed the FN509 trigger spring kit, before the install trigger pull was over 8 lb, after the install trigger pull is 5 lb.
I just got the FN509 spring kit. Shipping was fast and the product looks like a quality kit. I will be putting it in my gun this weekend.
