What a difference this kit makes in a pistol, I didn't do the work myself, but the trigger pull was 3lbs lighter, It's like a different pistol. AMAZING !
I've had this pistol for about a year now and the only thing I dislike about it is the trigger. It's just gritty, nasty, and heavy. This kit is the first thing I've bought on my quest to refine this trigger and it has changed it dramatically! Install went very smooth, took about an hour. I am very satisfied with the results, thank you for developing this! Next will be a metal trigger!
Thought they did exactly what I wanted. Made the stock trigger alot lighter. Would recommend trying this opinion before going to aftermarket trigger. Can install yourself in about 30 to 45 minutes. Iam buying spring kit for m&p 2.0 9mm now. Thanks m carbo Brandin Wells
Of all the guns I own, not a single one gave me buyer's remorse like the FN 509T. I bought it for its looks what it offered as a package (I mean, FN threw the kitchen sink on this firearm). But that trigger pull was so heavy right out of the box, it affected my accuracy when at the range. I've put 750 rounds through it hoping that it would get lighter over time but it didn't. The only thing that's gotten better was that annoying gritty feeling, which thankfully started to fade a little, as the transition from wall-to-break became more defined. I didn't want to go the Apex route just to fix this because #1: I am no gunsmith, #2: I heard about people cracking their frames trying to punch one of the pins out #3: throwing more money at this gun was a no-no for me. So I figured there's got to be an alternative. Enters M CARBO Spring Kit. $20 folks!!! TWENTY!!! That was all it took to fall in love again with my 509. If you ever shot a CZ P10, you know how amazing their triggers are. Now, shave between 0.3 to 0.5 oz off that CZ P10C trigger (which out of the box is measured at 4.5 lbs) and that's what you'll be getting with this spring kit. The Youtube tutorial was very helpful. I had my fair share of struggle with the sear spring, but a little patience and being ok with walking away from it all to reset did the trick lol. The trouble was worth it! Shipping was very fast considering the times we're living in. I ordered it on a Saturday and got it at my doorstep by Tuesday, and you'll be updated on the status of your order as you'd expect from any serious business. Great buying experience, great customer service, and exceeded expectations as far as the product is concerned! Bravo!
This kit and a Apex trigger and sear Really works nice! Pull is quite crisp and under 4lbs with some minor polishing as well.
Using an inexpensive basic Wheeler trigger guard, pre pull was just shy of 8 lbs. After installation of the kit..hovering around 5 lbs. 200 rnds 115 gr 9mm next morning range shots provided much improvement in trigger pressure/pull with more anticipated . Return is the same as I have not replace the trigger unit. Install is easy but steady tools and patience are required as they are very small parts. 5 star rating, 20 bucks?? Well worth it, I may still consider the Apex drop in kit, but for now...:)
I just installed 2 of these kits, 1 in a 509 tactical, and 1 in an FNS (the kit worked in the FNS without any issues). Install was fairly easy following the instructional video. Just be sure to watch the small parts and you should be fine. My 509 had a stock trigger pull of 7.5#, dropped to 6.5# with the frame springs installed, and finished at 5# with the slide springs. My FNS started at 7#, dropped to 6# with frame springs, and finished at 4.5# with the slide springs. Overall, based on my experience, it seams safe to expect around a 1# reduction from stock weight with the frame springs, and another 1.5# with the slide springs. I'm unsure how it would affect these numbers if you installed the parts in the reverse order. Overall reduction from stock should be around 2.5#. A 30+% reduction ain't bad at all! The only downside to this kit is that it initially seams a bit pricey for what you get in the bag. The end results are well worth the money however! I would definitely buy this kit again if I had another striker fired FN.
The kit arrived very promptly, did the install, preformed as stated. I installed the 3.5lb kit and is great, very pleased and just ordered a kit for my Kimber Micro 9. The fun never ends.
Please watch the entire video without skipping any parts or you may end up like me who spent a good two hours trying to correctly insert the sear housing back to where the pin could become flush on both sides of the pistol grip again. Overall, this kit combined with the synthetic grease for 2 bucks, is 100% worth the small cost to make the stock trigger better. No more grittiness in the build-up to the trigger pull, the pull itself is not so heavy anymore, and even the reset feels cleaner. Highly recommend this product if you don't want to drop 150+ bucks on an apex trigger.
Installed the spring kit into my brand new FN509C and there is a noticeable difference in the trigger pull. The video was an excellent source and I don't think I could have done it without it. The little trick of adding lube where the trigger interfaces with the body was awesome. Helped the grittiness of the initial trigger pull tremendously. I would highly recommend getting this trigger spring kit and following the instructions in the video.
I have actually purchased 2 FN509 Spring kits. I will describe both of the below. The first one was for my FN509 Tactical. That gun already had the APEX Trigger and heavy duty Striker installed prior to installing the M-CARBO Spring Kit. The Spring Kit reduced the trigger pull to just below 4lbs. However, I was frequently experiencing misfires do to the heavier APEX Striker. I put the original Striker Spring back in and that resolved the misfires. With the original Striker Spring, the final trigger pull was 4.5lbs. The second kit was installed on the FN509 Compact. This time a kept track of the impact from the various springs and polishing. Below is the sequence in which I modified the trigger: - Original Un-shot Gun: Trigger Pull was 7.5-8 lbs with significant Take-Up Grit. Wall was clear, however some Creep and a little Overtravel. Reset was fine. - After Shooting 150 rounds: Trigger Pull naturally reduced to about 6.5 lbs I then added M-Carbo Reduced Spring Kit in the following order: - After changing Striker Block Spring the Trigger Pull remained unchanged at 6.5 lbs - Then changed Striker Spring which reduced Trigger Pull to 5 lbs along with about 70% reduction in Take-Up Grit - Polished inside and outside of Striker. The Trigger Pull weight was unchanged at 5 lbs but Take-Up Grit was now about 80% gone -After changing Sear Spring and Disconnector Spring, the Trigger Pull reduced to 4.5 lbs The FN509 Compact still has more creep than my liking. The FN509 Tactical with the APEX Trigger is near ideal with virtually no creep and little over-travel. I will probably update the FN509 Compact with the APEX trigger in the near future.
Greatly reduced pull weight of the trigger but got around 20% light strikes when used with apex heavy duty striker, but once stock striker was reinstalled it worked great!
Installed in FN 509 ls edge. Stock trigger was ok but trigger pull wasn't consistent, between, 5lb 5oz to 6lb 1oz from the lower part of trigger. After install, trigger pull is still not consistent but reduced to the 3lb 5oz to 3lb 11oz. There are reduction in reset tension but still acceptable for competition use. Recommended.
Best $20 upgrade you can buy! You won’t regret it. Get a couple AR15 spring kits while you’re at it!
I bought the spring kit like 2 weeks ago or more. I wasn't sure if try them or just go with the Apex upgrade. But sometimes was screaming to my ear "try it"! So last Sunday late night I install it. For my surprise was very simple (with the install video). After I finish I check my trigger with a trigger scale and from 6.5 lbs went down to 3 lbs.... What 😳. It's a beautiful mix of a really nice defined wall, a really crisp break and a really good reset. Then I went to the range and try 60 rounds at 10 yards. The big holes was slow shot, the head shot was at 12 yards away. And yes, I only shoot one. And the rest was rapid fire. If not a great group, but it is really good. Just Iron sight. (I can't find the holosun 508t v2 anywhere. But my final impression is... BUY IT! Test it. And then you decide if you want the full upgrade. Maybe I will do the full upgrade, but not in the near future. That good is it! Again, just buy it!
From 6.5 lbs to 3 lbs. It's like a new gun. I shoot this at 10 yards. With iron sights. It's not a great group but, it's good. Again I can tell you how different (in a good way) this simple upgrade will benefit. Do I need an Apex trigger upgrade now... No! Maybe in the future, just for the flat trigger. So in my opinion do this upgrade first, then you decide.
