The best thing I could have done for the 509. I only have 250 rounds through the new kit. So far I have zero malfunctions and the gun is a pleasure to shoot. The FN trigger sticking has not been something I have had to deal with after the first 500 rounds through it. There's a little slop but nothing bad at all. I had the kit installed by a gunsmith because I have fat fingers and didn't want to attempt it so I can't speak on the install.
I also got the block, punches and hammer. The video was great help as I never took apart a pistol before. I took me about an hour because I also was able to clean the parts that normally don't get cleaned.
The product was very easy to install on my new FN LS EDGE. The Mcarbo spring kit coupled with a new Apex trigger, extractor and new Stricker made a huge difference in the trigger and the action. The accuracy was greatly improved with a action. As for the FN LS EDGE it is not worth a 1/4 of what they cost. Other than some slide cuts you get nothing worth all of the $1500 they cost.
Very pleased with this kit!! It performed as advertised and the DIY video made it easy to install. I just used my 509 in a two gun match and put a couple hundred rounds through it with no malfunctions. Thanks MCARBO!!!
I have used M-Carbo in the past for other firearms. The FN509 has a terrible trigger pull out of the box. I purchased the trigger kit for my son and I. The FN 509 became our favorite gun after we did the spring swap. We didn't have a gauge with us, but it is noticeably better. I do recommend this spring kit.
I purchased my FN 509 Midsize about 2 years ago. It's a fantastic firearm, but had room for improvement in the trigger department. The trigger wasn't as heavy as some others have claimed, but my trigger pull was averaging about 6 lbs. Honestly what bothered me the most is that the trigger pull was inconsistent. Sometimes the pull would be 5.5 lbs, and other times, the pull would be 6lbs; or somewhere in between. I knew that this M-CARBO spring kit would be an awesome upgrade, as I've used their kits in past with other firearms. Shipping was fast, and instructions were clear and concise. Their installation video covers everything, and is really easy to understand. I managed to get this installed in about 30-45 minutes without too much hassle. Once installed, my trigger pull went down to a consistent 4lbs 2 Ounces. The trigger pull is much cleaner, and a large amount of the spongy grit has been removed. The reset remains the same, which some people might not like as many prefer the super short reset. However, I believe that the is a fantastic upgrade to the stock factory trigger, and I highly recommend it to others! I could not be happier, buy this for your FN 509 without hesitation!
This made the trigger so much better. The trigger pull is much smoother and I've had no issues what so ever after a few hundred rounds through the fn 509 midsize with the trigger spring kit installed. I will be buy kit for so of my other pistols.
Have wanted a 509 for a long time and finally got one. Trigger was garbage! 6.5#. Bought this kit and dropped it to around 5-5.5. While installing I noticed there was some casting marks on the safety plunger and the striker so cleaned those up and the trigger is much better. Now my only complaint is the overtravel of the factory trigger so have an apex kit coming and hoping this kit and the apex will marry well and finish off this amazing pistol
Installed this spring kit with my Apex trigger kit and the break was around 3lbs, a little lighter than I wanted for run and gun with gloves on but was very happy with the kit for target shooting. I put just the stock firing pin spring back in and it's perfect while wearing gloves and on the move, probably around 4+lbs. The other springs also helped with gritty feeling in mechanism too.
Great product with an immediate noticeable difference! I would highly recommend getting this if you have a 509. Can’t beat it for the money. Trigger pull and response feels so much better. The videos for install was great and easy to follow.
Price is fantastic. Quality awesome. Service is the best. I think it was Chris in the video instructions. Chris, YES, YES, YES the trigger was gritty as sandpaper out of the box: FN 509 EDGE LS. Hard to believe anyone can make a worse factory trigger than Glock. While mine was a bit different than the standard 509, your video was superb. I was able to do my first spring replacement with only the aid of my son :-). Thank you. It made a world of difference. I felt so confident afterward, I went ahead and dropped a new trigger in. Went from a "leave it home" to"never leave without it. "
I've fallen in love all over again with my 509T. I've never fallen out of love with it, the springs just brought my love to new heights. It drastically changed the trigger pull making it lighter, while totally eliminating the grit most 509Ts were experiencing. My trigger manipulations are way better both with primary and support hand. It's definitely a must have, especially for the price. I fully enjoyed the install process, along with polishing. I just placed my order for the striker...can't wait.
Just finished installing the FN 509 Trigger Spring Kit on my 509. Love the installation video - it made the entire process logical and do-able. The results are absolutely wonderful! M*CARBO is the go-to source for my firearm improvements.
This creates a great improvement in the trigger pull! Based on prior experience with light strikes using a different brand, I won’t even try the striker spring, however, I would estimate a 1-1.5lb trigger reduction using the other components. This is perfect IMO. Also, the safety takedown isn’t much different, but keep an eye on the tiny ball in the detent.
Installing the parts was a breeze, especially with the provided videos. The trigger pull was almost cut in half with the new parts and grittiness of the take up is all but gone now.
