Review
This is a great upgrade to the Mossberg 500 trigger. Installed it on my daughter's slug gun. Easy to install, good instructional video. Very fast shipping. Big improvement to the trigger pull.
Has worked a treat on relaxing what was a stiff factory OEM trigger. Would definitely buy again. One word of caution the 590 trigger guard, made of steel, is very hard to push the pins from. But the standard 500 plastic trigger unit is just fine. My Mossy 500 feels much better now
This is an much needed upgrade from the OEM trigger. Cut the pull by 50%. Pumps more smooth and fast. Dont hesitate buy it. It is well worth the money. Also get the wooden dowel tool as it made it so easy. I can see why you need it.
Light primmer strikes on 22 year old 500 turkey model. Gunsmith shimmed the hammer spring. Wound up with almost 9 pound trigger pull. I installed trigger kit from mcarbo with their excellent video. 5 1/2 pound trigger pull and no miss fires in over 300 rounds. Great product and directions!
Everything arrived as scheduled. Install went fine and I'm now ready for spring turkey (without the 10 lb trigger pull). Normally I wouldn't alter stock triggers but I feel that by just replacing the springs (with a lighter tension) is a safe alternative to filing sears or messing about with the inner workings of the trigger assembly.
Helped in my Mossy 500 buy when comparing my new and improved trigger pull to my buddies factory 535 i can barely tell a difference. So although it worked nicely on my 500 i wouldnt consider it a huge upgrade if it was put on a 535.
Huge difference in trigger pull with these springs, plus the video made putting them in easy as 1-2-3
I have a two mossberg 500 shotguns and the trigger pull is hard to pull. So I bought two of the trigger spring kits and Replaced them with the mcarbo trigger spring kit for the mossberg 500 the springs our top quality. The trigger pull is much easier and smooth. They have my business shipping was really fast too. Thanks
I have a Mossberg 500A from the 70s an always hated the heavy pull on the second stage. But after installing this kit is breaks soooo nice and doesn't give me a huge flinch squeezing only 4lbs. It was a little tricky putting the trigger back into the receiver with the little spring. The spring kept falling out the main spring hole until I blocked it with a screwdriver. I definitely recommend this, and its really is as easy as the video shows!
I bought the spring kit for my Mossberg 500 took about 15 minutes to put in and literally I took half the pull off the trigger I don't see anything wrong with it
I've had several Mossberg's and Mavericks over the years and they have all shot about the same as far as trigger pull. I never really complained because they were no options as far as trigger upgrades. Decided to build a new home defense gun and stumbled on this trigger spring upgrade. It's priced right and had good reviews. Installed in less than 30 minutes (with the tool) and the reduction in trigger pull is Impressive. Very noticeable. I'll have this in every shotgun I own from here on out.
greatly satisfied results . Nice easy trigger pull with accurate results when shooting. I installed on Maverick 88 20 Ga. with a little difficulty because of extra spring inside trigger mechanism which is not shown in video. Maybe an adapted video should be added. Really love my shotgun now.
I purchased 2 spring kits for my 835 turkey gun and a 590a1, as well as the installation tool. Installing the kits was slow and tedious process, but the video instructions provided on this site helped quite a bit. I am very happy with the results, though my stock triggers were very broken in before the installation (around 6.4 lbs), once installed my trigger pulls averaged around 4.5 lbs for both guns. I definitely would recommend this product.
Wuth video installation was simple. Down side was i only had a fish scale bot my end results where 4,1/2 to 3,1/2 lbs trigger pull. So my didn't have a strong pull to stsrt with but did help and needed freshing up
It went well although your video is mainly for the other Mossberg configurations....I was able to figure it out on my own....maybe you folks should do a video specifically for the Maverick 88 Trigger Group....
This installation can be a little tricky on the Maverick 88, and the video installation M*CARBO has posted to YouTube is Mossberg 500-specific (the trigger groups are somewhat different)… It has definitely improved the trigger pull quite a bit, but I have some concerns about the lighter sear-reset, as it doesn’t always crisply ‘pop’ back into place as you let off the trigger. In all, this kit seems to do as advertised, but not having an install video for all of the trigger groups it fits and the sear issues deduct a star for me.
