Review
product was spot on !! looks ,quality exceptional. fitment was great only wish i seen video of a mav 88 there was a spring that wasnt seen an the 500 video so i had to youtube that video . but very well please and i can tell a difference... will buy again
Installed the trigger spring kit on my unused new Maverick 88. The trigger pull out of the box was about 7 lbs. After installing the spring kit, it reduced to 4.5 lbs. I am sure that if I polished key trigger parts as I would normally, it would be lower.
Be careful on the 88, the disconnector spring is different and pops out when removing the trigger. The disconnector holds it in place when depressed. I also was not able to remove the disconnector because there was no clearance to wiggle it out. The trigger pin also holds the connector spring on the 88. It loops around the pin. Just look at it carefully before removal of the pin. Luckily I was able to figure it out but the video is a decent reference for how most of this goes together. As far a pull reduction, mine was very poor to start. I'm guessing it was close to 8lb.s and reduced it to 5 lbs. it was an improvement from the factory pull.
Overall I am very happy with the new springs. My trigger pull went from an average of 6.6 to an average of 4.10. It took awhile to install the springs. The Maverick 88 is different then the 500. I had trouble with removing the disconnector. It's not the same as the 500. Also it was not easy to get back in place and the spring took some work to properly locate. The wooden tool did help with the hammer spring.
Could not get the trigger pull down to the 4.75 pounds described. The trigger breaks between 6.5 to 5.5 pounds using my trigger gauge.
the mav 88 trigger pull is so bad you think that the safety is on, not all the time but often enough, the spring kit is exactly what this shotgun needs, don't be intimidated by the replacement job, it is almost exactly like the mossy 500 viseo, only that there will be a spring with a funny bend in it will pop up, it won't go anywhere it just pops up when you pull the trigger out, now that funny bend goes straight below where it popped up from, a small flathead screw driver will push the spring arm down and then it will seat into the trigger housing, just look at it and this will make sense, other than that the return spring needs to be started sqaure not crooked, I mean push it in square to start the trigger assembly back into the housing, long winded I know, just trying to help, easy peasy, you got this
Needed to improve trigger after installation of Nikon red dot sight. Mossberg 500 trigger spring kit was just the ticket!!! Dropped pull from 7 lbs 2 ozs to 4 lbs 5 ozs. Easy to install. Follow instructions or have your local gunsmith knock it out in a few minutes! I love it when a product does what says it will do!!!
fast delivery even though I live on Vancouver island in bc Canada.my trigger pull was around 8 to 9 pounds pull. now its a nice 4.5 pounds. anyone buying a trigger spring kit will be happy
This is an amazing upgrade that you can do yourself in less than 30 min, the part got to me very quickly however one if the springs was damaged in transit, at no fault to the seller. When I contacted them about purchasing another spring without hesitation after hearing why I needed it they sent me another spring at no cost, this is the best customer service I have experienced, so not only am I happy that my trigger now has a pull a little over 3lbs but I'm happy that there definitely out to help there customers.. Thank you for everything!
I needed to replace the springs in the trigger. They work great and both me and shotgun are happy. Mcarbo shipped out asap and was great. Price was more than fair. If and when I need more parts will definitely come back
The trigger spring works great as advertised lowered the pull a good amount. I don't have a trigger pound gage but it feels almost half. Now on the install it was a not easy like the M-Carbo video on the 500. In the comments they said they would do one for the 88 but I could never find one. Overall it works but I would defiantly find a good video of how to or I did see a computer animated one that showed how the 88 trigger works and that helped. I would have given 5 stars if M-Carbo would have done the video they said they would.
I just installed an Mcarbo light trigger spring set for my Mossberg 590A1. The original trigger breaks at 8.5 pounds. After installing the Mcarbo Trigger Spring set, my trigger breaks at 4-4.5 pounds, a fantastic improvement. The spring works as advertised. Thank you, Mcarbo for this great product. I'm very happy with this product and will recommend it to everyone. Cheers.
Another great trigger upgrade from MCarbo. Dropped my trigger pull from around 7 lbs. to 4.5 lbs on an analog scale. Looking forward t crushing clays with this thing.
Everything fit perfect with no difficulties at all. Noticed an improvement right away.
I didn't even check th factory pull or the aftermath of the install but it is a lot better than factory I used to check on other installs still do when it's not my gun to prove to the friend but if mcarbo makes a kit for a gun I purchase I buy it before the paperwork is processed in the store so I can install it asap.
The springs worked as promised, a much improved trigger. I really appreciated the installation video which made the job a snap. Well worth the few dollars spent.
