Review
Highly recommend this trigger kit , and shell follower . A noticeable difference in trigger squeeze , and no more wobble from shells being shucked into the chamber . Had this 500 for almost 30 years , and put a LOT of deer and turkey in the freezer . Wish I had this trigger many years ago ... If you have trouble with the shell interrupter and stop falling out during final trigger assembly installation , put cotton balls in the front of the receiver , over the bolt and between the rails to hold them in place . The trigger assembly "should" slide in much easier .
Very smooth trigger now.
While I don't have a trigger pull gauge I can feel the improvement. The only issue I had during the install was keeping the trigger return spring from shooting through the hammer spring hole when getting it into its final resting spot. The trigger assembly tool I received was a hair to large to fit all the way into the hammer spring hole to help prevent this from happening!
M*Carbo, I just wanted to say great job! Ordering was simple, your communication after the order has been outstanding. You also sent a video link for the installation of the product so I could watch the installation before even getting the parts. Shipping was quick going across the country and the parts arrived in good shape. You will now be the first place I look to when needing parts in the future. Best Regards,
My Mossberg tigger was not resetting so I order the springs kit and tool. Glad I did, shotgun works much better and installed it my self, thanks.
My first time trying to modify the Mossberg 500 trigger and it was very easy following the youtube instruction from mcarbo. Just youtube "mcarbo trigger spring kit mossberg 500" and there was two good videos on how to disassemble and reassemble using regular tools and specialty tools, which I should've order to make it slightly easier. Overall, it was easy and I now have an average pull weight of 4.5 lbs.
I have a New Haven 600 that I hevily modified the stock and forearm wood with my dad's Army Ribbons from WWII, Korea,Vietnam, and some coins. I about wore it out at Meat Shoot competitions so I decided to rebuild it.I wound up using Maveric 88 reciever, 835 mag tube and barrel, then had to machine mag tube spacers to make the vintage forearm work. Then to top it off I used the trigger spring kit,Dammm this combo works great! the only thing that I would add to this kit is the tiny set screw that is needed to adjust trigger pre travel as most Mossbergs do not have one. Semper Fi, and keep up the good work
First i will say i am very happy with the product, however, i attempted to due the swap myself and ended up taking it to Williams Gun Sight to finish due to a mishap caused by video. There is a spot that says.... push this pin out... so i did. Parts flew everywhere.... Then the video says, oh first pull the trigger to release pressure..... ugh. Would have been helpful to have that step Prior to remove the pin step. Yes i could have watched the video first, but didnt.... regardless i put it back together and had no trigger.... something dislodged from its home when explosion of parts happened and i wasnt going to pretend to be a gunsmith any longer. So for the sake of others, please correct the video. Again love the product. Trigger is now a smidge over 5#
I installed this kit on a Shockwave. The factory trigger pull was 6# 10oz. After installing this kit the trigger pull dropped to 4# 12oz. I'm happy with that. Installation was a little tedious but not bad. A trick I found for reinstalling the trigger with the trigger spring was to first raise the hammer so the trigger+spring could be inserted w/o compressing the spring. Then lower the hammer to help hold it in place.
Ordered the trigger spring and it arrived fast. The spring cam before my trigger gauge. I used an analog gauge but I practiced with it to get a consistent pull direct and placement on the trigger. After checking the before the spring replacement and the after it dropped from a 6 to a 5 and is a smoother.
Fast delivery and parts that work well. Lowered trigger pull from 6.25 to 4.5 pounds. Dropped the first trigger spring then flattened it with a boot before I got it in. CS sent me a new one at no charge that arrived in two days. Makes me wish I had more needs so I might trade with these folks. Wish you all success. Thank you.
This was the only aftermarket kit I found to improve Mossberg 590 trigger pulls. The stock trigger pull was ~7# 10oz. The pull after the installation was ~4# 4oz. The installation was a little tricky but the video how to do this was outstanding.
The springs are a little hard to install, however the video is great in assisting in the install. The finished version is well worth any effort involved in the installation. Thanks
I always was afraid working on this trigger. With this video and the MCarbo spring kit I changed the trigger from "is the safety still engaged?" to a smooth sporting matchlike trigger. Thank you Guys!
Install was easy, with their video and install tool. I didn’t take measurements, but there is subjectively a huge reduction in effort in the trigger and cycling the action.
