Review
I installed both the extra power recoil spring and the buffer, very easy to do! Had a friend meet me at the Club with his factory original PC9. We each shot 5 rds 115 gr in his then mine, both noticed less recoil in my PC9 with the new spring and buffer!
Installation less than ten minutes, no difficulties. Range time pending. Will advise per results.
Very easy installation, we ran 100 rounds through my pc carbine, it ran beautifully with out a hiccup. Felt less recoil, definitely a must for your pc carbine. Built much better than the original Ruger shock buffer, looks brand new, after running 100 rounds through it. Definitely a keeper. Thanks M-Carbo. Can’t wait for you to make the steel recoil clip also, for the buffer. Keep up with the great products.
The quality and functionality of this shock buffer is spot on as described. Not only do we get a reduction in felt recoil, but protection from wear and tear of internal components!
Went in easy. You can feel the quality difference from the original
The buffer was easy to install and seemed reduce some of the felt recoil. It also seemed to reduce the metal to metal sound when shooting also.
Five minute job to install the shock buffer and retainer.
Last time I disassembled PCC I could tell stock buffer was on the way out. Bought the Mcarbo buffer and after easy install it worked fine. Only 50 rounds and I didn't do the replacement for less recoil but it seemed a bit lighter.
I was disappointed I did not get the upgraded spring. I thought it was part of the package. The do explain on their website the spring is no longer needed, but mine is worn already and I will be replacing it. With that I am still glad I purchased it and it has made a difference in how my carbine shoots. Thank you MCARBO. I will be back for further upgrades when I can convince the boss to let me spend the money without the LOOK.
ENDED UP GETTING THIS BUFFER AND THE STAINLESS CLIP. 5 out of 5 stars. The removal of the oem parts, and the ease of installation of the MCarbo pieces made this upgrade a no brainer. The real reward was when shooting the pc carbine with the factory buffer, there was a metal clack sound. I Know that the factory piece was polymer, but it sounded like metal on metal. That is all gone now with the mcarbo cushioned buffer. That is probably the single most rewarding upgrade I have made for the money. If you have a Ruger PC Carbine in .40S&W, you have got to get the buffer and metal clip.
The quality of the part is excellent, fits well, easy to install. 100% recommended.
Fast shipping, just as described have not installed yet but expect it to be as good as other parts I purchased.Thank you m carbo
installed with muzzle brake at the same time. less recoil and shoots flatter. highly recommend both.
Fit and finish is far superior to the factory buffer and the installation is easy. My pc9 now has every part M*CARBO offers and I couldn't be happier with it's performance.
I really recommend anytime you replace one product make sure you replace all parts involved. I replaced the clamp as well. If you are getting stove pipes, Make sure you replace the ejector... It gets wear very quickly.. I hope that helped.
This new buffer was easy to install, and appears to be a big upgrade to the old buffer. The only concern I have was with the thickness being a tad more than the original. I hope this does not impede the bolt from locking back. As someone mentioned a steel locking ring would be good, but that may tear through the rubber over time as a plastic one would not. Either way, love the products, and will leave another review after I fire the gun.
