Easy to install and it’s beefed up from the original part from Ruger. My old one has an elongated hole and the little keeper doesn’t stay in very well. It’s well made , can’t wait to go shooting. Will update when I get time to shoot, but I’m sure you guys have done a great job again. Made my Ruger better I’m sure, I now have all the updates that you guys have made. Thank you!
I put the buffer on my PC9 carbine and right after this the carbine stopped locking the bolt after the last round with glock style magazines. The lock was failing 8 times out of 10. When I put the original Ruger buffer back the lock started working as expected right away. I tested with genuine Glock and Magpul Glock style magazines.
I guess I should have paid a little more attention. I thought I was buying the whole bundle like what he unwrapped in the video. I was expecting 3 items: the spring, buffer and retainer. This is only for the buffer.
lost round count at around 4200, still rolling.
I bought and installed the following parts for my PC9 Carbine: Buffer, Recoil Spring Retainer, Bolt Head Pins and Extractor Pin Kit, Stainless Steel Trigger Group Pin Kit, and the Exact Edge Extractor as well as the 3 Piece Punch Set. The install was super easy thanks to the videos for each product. Chris is a Great Tutor and his methods are very simple and to the point. I haven't been able to get to the range yet but dry firing feels much better. The trigger pin kit really took out a lot of the squishy feel when pulling the trigger. The Bolt head Pins and Extractor Pin was showing a LOT of wear for less than 1000 rounds through the rifle. I was having some stove pipes and I'm sure the Exact Edge Extractor will take care of those as the old one was almost shot. I'm looking forward to putting about 100 rounds through it next week to see and feel the difference these parts made!
Major improvement over the ruger oem part, Seems of great quality as well.
I bought and installed. Super easy to do. Makes a world of difference. Ruger needs to make this in all of their pc carbine rifles. What a GREAT product
Great product. Seem like a perfect fit, snapped in place real easy.Well built. I have the extra-power recoil spring and this buffer is a great addition. Watching the install video for that made it real easy. It does seem smooth out recoil and deaden the bolt bump a bit. In my opinion they are a must have for the .40 cal carbine. These products make great carbine even better!
Factory one is garbage the Mcarbo one is the bomb and immediately makes a difference and it’s quality. Mine was already falling apart.
This is a needed upgrade to the PC9. So much better than the original part. Recommended upgrade.
Buffer worked great. i have buffers in my 1911 and mini 14. this is always a nice upgrade. Nice job guy's.
I purchased the recoil reduction bundle, and right away problems. The bolt would not hold open on the last round. I thought maybe not enough lubrication on the bolt and spring. After adding more lube, the bolt still would not hold open on the last round. Frustrated, I bagged my carbine up and decided to shoot something else. All the way home from the range, all I could think of was the fact that my gun worked fine until I installed the spring and buffer. Changed my recoil spring back to the original, and on my next range visit, it still would not hold open occasionally. This time I removed the buffer, and replaced the original. Now I'm back to square one. Now no more problems. Contacted MCARBO, they told me the "Recoil Reduction Bundle" was no longer available, and I received a refund for the spring by way of a credit. However, when I tried to use the credit it would not allow me to. In addition to that, the recoil spring is now missing from my orders tab in my account folder, and subsequently, now the credit is also gone. As I said previously, the reduction bundle is no longer in my PC, and the only reduction I've experienced is in my bank account.
I purchased the buffer and retention clip. My PC Carbine runs smoothly low with less noise a bit of recoil dampening. Definitely a worthwhile upgrade.
I could feel the difference right away.
I wasn't very happy with the stock buffer plate being just a hunk of molded plastic. I ordered this because I was going to have everything torn apart changing the extractor, pins, and buffer spring, so I figured in for a penny in for a pound. Well when I took this out of the bag I was very happy with what I got. Someone took some serious time designing this. It's what the stock piece should have been. So if you're upgrading your PCC grab one of these too, you won't be sorry.
