I am very happy with this product. I purchased it after having my Ruger magazine dislodge from the weapon during firing. I received the new extra power release spring within a week after ordering. I decided to have an armorer install it rather than trying it myself. I fired the weapons today without any problems. The magazines stayed seated during firing without any malfunctions. I highly recommend this product. Thank you, Brian McColgib
I received the Extra Power Spring and Stainless Steel Guide Rod for the Ruger LCPII and everything is good. I have installed them according to the M*Carbo videos. The videos made the installation process so easy. The release button is now more firm and takes a little more pressure to release the mag than the original spring. Now I have to go and try out the Ruger LCPII with the new parts. I sure hope the mag spring solves the mag drop problem.
Watch the video for very helpful Tips don’t force anything and try hard To keep together. Take a few pictures with your phone Before disassembly at each stage For emergency reference. It may take a few try’s on the spring going into the hole on the button and it may pop out and fly across your Work bench so make sure you Have a clean area to find it it that happens. Took me 3 try’s with large Hands. It works great!
Magazine will not drop out unintentionally! Easy money to spend on a definite improvement.
I may uninstall this. Yes, it is stronger. The difference is clearly felt. However, the mag release button does not extend as far. It is easier to press, in that way even though it is stronger. It feels like it requires more consciousness to make positive contact with the button. I think the original distance it stuck out was perfect. Any more and it would be too easy to accidentally actuate. And less (this scenario) it would be harder in a way to actuate. It's becoming a micro action instead of a macro action. I may look for an extended release to see if it will help.
My LCP II was partially ejecting the magazine during firing, especially with the 7 round extended magazine. I sent it back to Ruger who replaced the entire grip frame, but it had the exact same problem when I test fired it with the new frame. Instead of wasting my time with another trip back to the factory (and not trusting the gun), I decided to order this part. After installing the M*Carbo extra power mag spring, the gun runs flawlessly. I fired six magazines through it yesterday without a hitch. It's surprising that M*Carbo is the only shop with a solution to this common problem, but I'm glad someone is making this product! Installation was a bit of a pain because it requires taking the fire control group out of the polymer frame and squeezing a tiny spring into a slot that's too small for it. The good news is that I never have to deal with it again after installing it. There's a video guide for this now, but, when I did it, I just used the trigger kit video and filled in the gaps. Overall, very satisfied with this product. Thanks, M*Carbo!
My Ruger LCP 2 could not be shot without the magazine falling out making it a non Dependable gun it was essentially worthless I sent it to Ruger they sent it back and it had the same problem I put this spring on it and it fixed the issue super easy to install I carry the gun everywhere now
Ok so this spring makes a big difference. You can still release the mag without difficulty but you have to want to. I have two lcp’s so I could compare this to my other with stock spring. Makes me more confident carrying this weapon. The pin removal and install is important on these little guns. Pins removed right to left and installed left to right oriented in ur hand as if you were firing. Left side of pins have a larger diameter. This is obvious after the pin is removed. One side will fit inside the frame hole on the left side easily the other will not. So small diameter of pin back in the left side of frame and drive it home.
The spring doesn't fit like the factory one, but does work. I purchased the heavier spring due to issues with the mag coming out while carrying in my left pocket. That problem is resolved.
It is stiffer however if I push to far it will pop up past little tab that holds it in place maybe I put it in wrong but you really can't install wrong I think if my lcp had the metal release instead of plastic it would be better
Definitely a more deliberate push to release the mag. I like it! I didn't have the "universal" too to install and what a pita. Flung that thing across the room! Finally, made my own tool to install and it went in without problem.
Lcp2 mag kept falling out. I knew when I compared the old spring and this one it would help, sure did. Great product and looking through the other products MCARBO, I am ready to order more stuff. Buy American y'all, you will not be disappointed in this product and this company.
