The stock trigger pull on my VP9, was between 5 1/2 to 6 lbs. I had previously installed the ultra match trigger kit from HK parts, and it dropped the pull weight to 5lbs. Unfortunately, the trigger failed to reset about 10% percent of the time. I found this to be totally unacceptable. I installed the Mcarbo kit and am very happy with it. The trigger pull is a consistent 4.25 lbs, and has been 100$ reliable. It is also smoother, with less grit. I could not be more pleased with it! Now, I am just hoping Mcarbo comes out with a flat trigger for the VP9. Well done!
Outstanding installation video! I also watched it completely through then used it again going through the entire disassembly assembly process. One thing my VP9 is doing and it may be because its so new with less than 700 rounds through it. Is when locking back the slide prior to removal and rotating the disassembly lever down the trigger isn't moving completely forward. Its just a couple MM short. I tick it forward the rest of the way and the slid comes off without hanging up. So I thought I had missed or done something wrong and took the locking block out and did a fresh assembly with the same results. Then put back in the factory spring and the trigger moves all the way forward when rotating the disassembly lever down. Then back in went the lighter spring and I was back to where I ended up the first time. So I concluded I didn't damage anything and its not a lubrication issue. Its just a byproduct of a lighter spring. Which is ok when I fully (Im sure I do but who knows maybe not) understand whats going on. It may self correct with time and parts wear in? Another trick I figured is once the dismounting safety is on the locking block. I could hold the safety clamp/dismounting safety in place with my long needle nose pliers when installing the locking block. You see I suffer from SFS (sausage finger syndrome, sad but true my whole life) Then pop the right slide release in, up to where it just shows in the locking block and that will hold that little !@&*#@ fiddly assembly together along with the disconnector. While I loosely put the front locking block pin in and then the spring. Hope this all helps?
I installed three kits in a hour. VP9 Match, VP9 and VP9SK all three are OR. (If you’re careful you can skip the pita step which is to remove the middle metal bracket.) The YouTube video is great for the full takedown.
I had a previous poor rating for the spring set, but after talking to a service representative, it made have been a QC issue with the set or that my VP9 has a low round count. They made things right and got another set to me resolving my issue. Great customer service, can't wait to fire my VP9!
I installed this set on my HK VP9L and was pleased with the trigger pull weight reduction then ordered another set for my HK VP9 Match. Pleased with the weight reduction as well but I still feel I need the adjustable Lazy Wolf trigger from HK to reduce the take-up and fine tune the reset. Problem is, cannot remove my trigger pins on either they are so tight and won't budge. I wish someone made a pin removal tool because I have not been able to remove mine after many attempts........ I am going to try freezing my frame next as a last resort. I don't want to send my guns out ! Any helpful tips are much appreciated....
This is my 3rd kit as I have this in my VP9Match my VP9L and Now in my EDC VP9. A great improvement over factory springs
As others have pointed out, this is one of the more challenging installations I have faced. Shipping and quality of product were excellent as always. Ran into difficulties with the install but have successfully placed both trigger return spring and sear spring into a functioning/tested handgun. Not as much change in break as I would have liked or have experienced from other M carbo products. A lot of my issue seems to be the gritty trigger take up that others mention on the vp9. The actual trigger break is lighter. The grit is absolutely not M carbo's fault though. Came to find out that if you are only doing the trigger return spring, you do not need to remove the frame block - IF you are careful when backing out the ambidextrous slide release on which the trigger returns spring centers.
Spring kit performed as advertised. Follow the detailed installation video and you’ll have no problems. Be careful not to accidentally loose any of the springs during the installation as you may find it difficult to find.
Excellent product and installation video. I’m looking forward to trying my upgraded H&K VP9 on the range this week. I will be upgrading my son’s Glock 43 next and expect the same excellence in springs and video. MCARBO does excellent work.
While I’d love to see a more significant drop in pull weight, the product delivers as promised. The product would get 5 stars, if not for the video’s lack of coverage on the slide stop spring. I’m a gunsmith and I know better, that being said, I lost the slide stop spring! Strangely enough, the gun in the video had obviously been disassembled and reassembled numerous times and the guy seems to still slightly struggle to keep track of the slide stop spring. I’m betting 50% or more, will lose this spring, as there are very few in stock ANYWHERE. If I could advise one change to this product, it would be to include a spare slide stop spring, as it wouldn’t effect the price much, it would save a serious headache, when that tiny spring goes flying. It’s fairly easy to install a spare, but extremely difficult to wrestle with a new pistol and focus on NOT letting the spring fly out. I’d also mention it in the video (as well as it’s exact location), BEFORE beginning to remove ANY of the locking block assembly.
The install was not to bad. I had a little trouble with one pin but figured it out. There is a little difference. Also installed a trigger. Fun little up grade.

This trigger spring is awesome, install was greatly aided by video, took me about 30 minutes, luv it.
After spending over an hour installing these springs, the trigger will not recent. Great way to waste a night and 20$ plus what ever the tools cost.
Initially turned my vp9 trigger into mush, but later realized I had locking block issues. After polishing disco and trigger bar, the lower pwr mcarbo springs complimented the work. Sear and striker engagement still crispy after 1 year installation and use. Good stuff.
the VP 9 spring kit was easy to install. The tutorials online were very helpful with tips on the procedure to reassemble the trigger spring and sear spring.
