I really didn't understand until I received my CMR-30 how the magazine could accidentally eject but now I do. Installing this upgraded magazine release was a great fix that KT should have done in the first place. Highly recommend this upgrade.
Easy install. Definitely takes ALL the play/slop out of the seated magazine.
This piece did exactly what it was advertised to do. Install this as part of a swapping of the feed ramp and trigger. You won't be disappointed.
Definitely gives the mags a solid lockup feel. I did have to remove and replace the Tandemkross plates I had on the mags though. No big deal.
Install went like clockwork. Followed the YouTube video. Holds mag tight and higher up in the grip. Should help with feeding ammo. Haven't shot the pistol yet but am expecting no issues. Definitely a nice upgrade over the original.
Was very easy to install and is recessed in but video says you should have a slight bit of play but none like it had well mine has no play I have to shove it hard to make surer it seats up in it there's no space between mag and grip have bumped it and mag fell out the first time I took it to range before shooting can someone from service tell me what is wrong or what to do to fix it. Ill redo my review if I can figure out what's wrong great workmanship and part though.
Installed a couple of these in my Kel-Tec's and what a difference it made in the tighter (higher) magazine fit which brings the rounds closer to the top. Quality made dense poly which will facilitate longer life and durability. I watched the videos on this site and it was easy and fun to make happen. I installed the stainless steel feed/load ramp into my 2 Kel-Tec's also.
Installed the mag release yesterday. It went very easy just pay attention to how the spring is situated before you start. This product is a must have if you belong to the extra large hand club . When I was shooting if I would hold the grip tightly I would drop a clip Not anymore! I tried to intentionally do it . Kel-Tec should have Mcarbo test all their new guns before production starts. Luv both companies! Will be purchasing from both in the near future.
Together with my slide, slide release and firing pin work, this mag release works as advertised. Went from 40% fed failure to about zero, 2 misfeeds, one each in 25 round loaded mags, and that may have been my own fault of loading them as I noticed the stack wasn't so perfect. Solved that with a new loader, but can't review it here (wink). This took 3 minutes to install without splitting grip/lower half. Use 1/16" tubing to hold spring ends together on reinsertion and presto, goes right in, takes no longer than unscrewing one screw, trap spring end, insert mag release and spring into mag well and tighten up one screw.
Received the mag release upgrade just a couple days after ordering. Installed in minutes using the provided video as a guide. Went to range same day. Worked as advertised. Ran through multiple mags on Hornady vmax and CCI 30 grain tipped. Good product.
I have added this to CP33, CMR30 and now PMR30. It helps lift the magazine a little for better feeding and makes it harder to accidentally release magazine. Good product !
This is not my first product from M-Carbo and everything I have purchased has been top quality and well thought out. This release is no exception paired with the mag extension will work great.
This enhanced mag release is better than stock however still needs work. The problem is it is very easy to release the magazine accidentally by gripping the bottom of the grip. It's simply needs to be sit deeper in the mag release area in the bottom of the grip. I would say they are halfway there . So still needs improvement.
The mag release did exactly what it is supposed to. The online video made the installation easy
I recently purchased a keltec PMR 30. Prior to purchase, I read several reviews for upgrades on this handgun. I have not shot it yet. But plan to this coming week. The new parts have not been installed yet, feed ramp and upgraded mag release. I will give an update. But MCARBO as always delivered the parts in a timely manner. With an easy purchase process. Installation was quick and easy. Quality of product is very good. The upgraded release works perfectly and does hold mag better and higher up in well. The odd thing that I did find is that it also improved the lock back of the slide on some magazines I was having trouble with. In all honesty I only fired a single round as of yet with it and will be trying out later to see if the pistol now cycles any better ( I also have the feed ramp installed) quick fyi..the feed ramp dod NOT improve it's cycling prior to the this addition so this should help. In addition to these two upgrades I had to take off a few little edges the rounds were catching on in the lock up mech in slide... Others I've talked to had same issues. It actually rips pieces off the bullet and catches on the case as feeding. This is in my opinion a good idea with poor enineering on kel-tecs part... Looking foward to trying it out👍👍👍👍
