This release not only makes the gun safer, but closes the gap between the magazine and gun body. The tighter tolerances makes the gun feel like a more quality weapon. It's easy installation and support video ensures this is an easy retrofit. The design is simple, and the manufacturing precise. It fits well and has a lubricity that promotes a good release.
As Chris demonstrated in the installation video, the new mag release is a definite improvement over the stock Kel-Tec part. It does hold the magazine higher in the chamber and is recessed exactly as demonstrated in the video. If you are going to do the feed ramp at the same time, do the ramp job first and do the mag release last. By the way, the stock spring is sufficient for operating the release and it doesn’t require any change in spring tension. Also, it is a polymer part and works exactly as it was designed.

It was annoying noticing that the mag didn’t seat as far up as I would prefer when I first purchased the pistol. This is a good upgrade. Easy to swap out.
Fixed the issue I had with mags not being held in high enough and tightly in my pistol. Install only took a few minutes and was really easy.
Combined with the stainless steel ramp it eliminated all of the FTF’s and FTE’s. The magazine now sits flush with the bottom of the grip and no more accidental mag drops. This is on a CMR 30.

Keeps the mag higher in the mag well. Super easy to install, high quality part. Users should note that magazine tension will vary from gun to gun, I have two that drop free and one that I have to pull out, its due to plastic deformation of the gun and has nothing to do with this upgraded part, which does indeed help with feeding issues.
I love everything about the CMG-30, except that it fired only every other round. It set in the safe for a few years until I seen a video with Mcarbo’s enhanced mag release and the steel feed ramp. So I said what the heck and bought them both. After installing I shot 180rounds, and had 2 jams. But after looking the 2 that jammed were a few Hornaday rounds that had really large hallow points that didn’t help feed very well. So in the end, definitely worth it. Made a non-functional gun into a normal running gun.
Well made and easy to install. Definitely stops accidentally hitting the magazine release.
but not necessarily a huge difference in the function of my gun. It does create a tighter fit for my magazine, but my gun fed fine. I really like it smaller profile.
