Review
Installed this along with spring kit. What a difference don't wait, buy it. Easy install
Great upgrade- before this it was tough to score good hits at 10 yards. I installed this trigger and the spring kit plus a hogue grip and now it’s hitting bullseye regularly
The flat face trigger with the spring kit makes this a completely different gun to shoot. Simply put from pain to pleasure. Roll and break is smooth and much lighter which makes it much easier to stay on target. Both were easy to install with limited experience. Just don't forget the locktite.
Great quality product. Out of this world customer service. I will definitely recommend this company to everyone.
Changed out the original trigger to the flat pull. Very smooth easy pull with a crisp break.
Greetings... I have not fired the upgraded LCP yet but I thought this review could help others: * FIRING PIN SPRING: Fairly straight forward but the DIY video does not use a current Ruger LCP slide so the actual location on the roll pin is different. Don't do what I did (which was remove the extractor by mistake) * MAG RELEASE SPRING: This seems to be a solid upgrade. The video says the "Special Install Tool Is a Must". After several attempts and 2 hours looking for the spring which shot across the room; I agree and I think this tool should be included with the kit. Take a small flat tip screw driver and a triangle jewelers file and cut a "V" in the blade. This worked very well (like a small "pickle fork") * FLAT TRIGGER: Install was easy enough but I'm pretty sure the tiny set screws don't do anything as the travel is set by the trigger pivot. I think I would have preferred an aluminum trigger option (even at a higher cost) as this mod removes a plastic trigger and installs a plastic trigger. Older videos do show aluminum trigger upgrade options in red & black. Why was this discontinued? * MCARBO DIY VIDEO: This needs to be updated in my opinion. Too much time "selling the product". If I am watching the video; I've already purchased the parts. There should be separate marketing videos and a current Install Video. I also noticed that the video shows all parts installed on a dry firearm. This is an opportunity to oil / grease many areas that are hard to get to so oil / grease everything as you go. I also used "Flitz" and a dremel and polished the feed ramp on the barrel to a mirror finish. I also had a hard time getting the slide to re-engage after all the mods. For some reason, I had to put the butt cap back on and a magazine in before the slide would install (???) * SUMMARY: It took me about 5 solid hours to install all mods & springs. Some of this time was spent chasing flying springs so be prepared. I love the Energy & Support from M*CARBO and I will continue to be a loyal customer. This upgrade made me realize just how cheaply made the Ruger LCP plastic gun really is. However, it is a super inexpensive firearm and it needed all the help it could get. After I get to the range, I may write another review. Many Thanks... Gene / Atlanta, GA.
I got the stainless steel rod, spring kit, and trigger kit. If your going to get any parts it's those 3, but you might as well just get them all and completely revamp you LCP. Honestly this feels like a newer and better version of what it was before. I will definitely be coming back to get the mag spring, highly recommend.
Quality parts, received PDQ. willy buy from in future!
My first review was of course tongue in cheek since the part would not check out properly in the cart. Since then, I have been able to place the order, and received it in no time flat. I installed the trigger on the day it arrived, and I can say without hesitation that it is an enormous improvement over the Sweet Pea trigger that has filled that spot for a few years.
I purchased this Trigger to install at the same time as the spring upgrade. I had never disassembled the LCP as far as needed for this project, however, the videos on this website are very clear and show exactly what to do. I have a S/N 373-XXXXX pistol, and tried this trigger to see if it was compatible. Just as another reviewed posted, it fit perfectly with no issues. The trigger feels great, and along with the spring kit make this a different pistol. Before, my wife couldn't pull the trigger without jerking it past the break, pulling the show way down. Now, she can pull the trigger through with no issue. It still feels heavy enough that it takes a deliberate pull, and I would recommend this product to anyone with a LCP.
I purchased this upgrade plus the trigger spring kit some time ago and finally got around to installing it. The results were unbelievably good. The video online walked me through it and I didn't manage to screw anything up. There are a few stages that are tricky, however, and I managed to launch the firing pin across my basement but found it in a few minutes. Pay attention to the details in the video! What was the WORST trigger in my safe is now up there with my Sig p365. It's a great update for a gun I usually don't carry unless I have to make a run out to the grocery store early in the morning. Well done, MCarbo!!
By far the best trigger for lcp on the market. Mad at myself for not buying it sooner.
man this Trigger is so clean and works amazing wayyy better than that piece of junk that comes on it. so glad i changed the trigger. And to top it off it just looks so sexy on the lcp especially the red trigger on the usa flag slide. If you are on the fence about getting it just do it!
Being a firearms and CCW instructor, I am always on the lookout for real word, practical products that improve carry guns. Having an American based, veteran ran company moves M*Carbo to the top of the list. I purchased their ss guided, spring kit, and trigger for my 1st get LCP. Quality beyond compare, instructional videos that set the standard for DIY types, and quick/responsive customer service makes me wish they sold more than parts for weapons! Install took minutes (being an armorer with the correct tools) and fit/finish were superb. Despite their warning that the trigger kit is not for 1st gens, a quick email exchange with the company president Chris verified that although it isn't up to the tolerance levels as it is in the 2nd gen guns, it would work. There is a great improvement over the factory trigger and the lighter springs make it run like butter. I also picked up their small armorers block, and for a pocket block, it is quite handy. Defiantly going in a pocket of the range bag. Having installed custom hammer/sear/triggers in 1911's, this was a fun little project that vastly improves the LCP for carry. I will definitely be recommending M*Carbo products to my students.
Got bored so I decided to play with the LCP. This trigger is AWESOME! Completely different pull, can't wait to take it to the range.
Installed the flat trigger and spring kit. Easy installation and big improvement. Thank you.
