No secret...the Sub2000 trigger is atrocious! This kit takes it down to just being bad. It does make a huge difference in pull and smoothness, but the long take-up and reset are still there. To be fair, I run some pretty hot-rodded guns, something that the KelTec will not ever be. Mine is a Gen 1, so there were some minor things slightly different than the instructions. But, mcarbo answered my questions promptly via email. Along with the extremely well done installation video all went fairly well. The end result is 2.3 pounds less pull and no gritty feel in the take-up. I highly recommend this kit for any Sub2000 users, for it will make a fun firearm even more of a joy. Oh, and the shipping was Jimmy Johns Freaky Fast!!

This product, along with the performance trigger bar kit, really improved the trigger performance on my Gen 2 Sub. I had KT do the install and am very happy with the Mcarbo products and the KT installation. Well worth the money to take your Sub to the next level. Also Mcarbo has great customer service!
OK, Watched the video, didn't really specify, but... I figured I would install the new feed ramp, spring kit and try the screw kit. Everything seemed to go well. I used a highly scientific measuring approach to checking trigger pull. I hung a small bag from a string, looped over the trigger. I then slowly added lead bullets until the trigger tripped. I weighed the bag on my kitchen scale. I did this 3 times and the average was 9lbs 2oz. After installing everything, I repeated the highly accurate and scientific measuring approach and a 3 pull average was now 4lbs 7 oz. That'll do. I must say the M*Carbo video was more helpful in reassembling my S2K than any other video or written instruction I've ever watched or read.
I have used the trigger spring kit, replacement trigger and screw and spacer kit on my sub 2000. I have been pleased with the products, but after installing the spring kit I experienced multiple problems with failure to fire, at least 20%. I re-installed the stock hammer spring, problem solved. Even with the stock hammer spring the trigger pull is noticibly better than stock. I will be ordering the replacement trigger guard next.
The trigger spring kit is well worth the few bucks it costs. I give it a two thumbs up for sure. While i had the gun apart, I also installed one of MCARBO's stainless steel feed rams. During the preparation process, it is required to polish the feed ramp. It struck me to polish the sear surfaces while I had the gun in pieces. Not only is the trigger pull lighter now, but much much smoother. Now I'm ordering one of the new trigger bars to eliminate the slop in the trigger travel. I believe these items will transform this gun. Again, the trigger springs are well worth the miniscule investment.
Put the trigger spring kit in and dropped the trigger pull from 10+ lbs to just 5.25lbs. what a difference. groupings are in the 1-2" range first time out using the original sights @ 20 yards.
I had never disassembled my sub2000 to the extent it requires to Install the spring kit and trigger.. I watched the video several times while waiting for the order to arrive. Total time for me to install the parts was two hours. The majority of that was cleaning The internal parts and inside the receiver halves. Hint - I played the video on my iPad as I installed the kit.. All the parts fit ,and I'm impressed with the function.
The install was pretty straight forward but I did have a stripped grip pin just like in the video. Getting the hammer spring pushed in while pressing the grips back together was the tricky part but it was really no problem. Anyone can do this in my opinion. The install videos and the speed of shipping are top notch.
It took me a while to get to installing my spring set and trigger but once I got to it I found that it was really easy. Just follow the Mcarbo video. It does help to pay attention to the ejector and feed because they will fall out. I am very happy with the installation and the quality of the products. I will be getting the new charging handle soon. Great company with excellent products - and it's always a plus to support a veteran run company.
Although this is not directly a product review, I wanted to touch on how awesome these guys are when it comes to customer service. The MCARBO team did everything in their power it seemed to get the parts I ordered to me as quickly as possible. There was no question about the status of my order due to the fact I received frequent update emails on the progression of my order. They provide You Tube videos to help you not jack up your Sub 2000, and have good folks on the line if you get stuck. Just by their customer service and who they are as a combat veteran owned company - have earned my repeat business when I decide how to further upgrade my Sub2000. I plan on putting the upgraded trigger to the test hopefully soon when I get some time to go the range! Benjamin
I ordered this trigger spring kit based mostly on the reviews online and I was not disappointed. The kit was super easy to install and the trigger felt 10 times better than with the stock springs. 100% Recommended.

First off let me preface this review with how happy I am at the level of quality parts MCARBO offers at an unbeatable price point, especially for a small veteran owned United States business. Now, I would not buy the spring kit without the trigger, you will be inside your sub2k anyways and removing the springs so pony up and spend the 30 dollars on the target trigger. You'll thank me later as it's also a wonderful product. Make sure you follow the instructions on the website, and or the videos on YouTube to the tee. This isn't rocket science, however you will need to have the confidence to handle small pieces and correctly reassemble them in order, which thanks to the instructions MCARBO offers it isnt insanely difficult. I'd rate the install a 4/5. Now this spring kit combined with the trigger completely removes all creep, providing you with a crisp 5 lb pull. You will still have the long pretravel but it is 100% more consistent without all of the creep onice the trigger reaches the wall it snaps. Think of snapping an icicle or a candy cane, this is the break you will be getting out of the kit. In conclusion I couldn't be happier for the money I paid, the fast service I got and the amazing customer service if I ever need it. The men at MCARBO do a wonderful job assisting you if you have problems or any general questions. Overall I would rate my experience a 10/10. A+ work guys, you have my business. Next I plan on ordering the screw kit, sling mount and maybe a kit for my Magpul 870 trigger.
Installed spring kit and aluminum trigger in Sub2000 gen 2. Youtube videos were excellent guides. Only problem encountered was removal of collar for disassembly. Tried all recommended methods without success, finally used a heat gun to soften adhesive but use caution, too much heat could damage the plastic. Very hot water on the collar may be a better alternative. Modifications resulted in a trigger pull similar to a stock AR15 trigger pull. Trigger can now be squeezed vs yanked to achieve target effect.
