Very good video explaining how to install Hellcat trigger kit, took me about an hour going slowly and the end result is nice. Don't have a trigger poundage gauge but just guessing it took about 3 lbs. off the trigger pull.
Everything I have ever bought from M*Carbo has been exceptional in quality and function. Most of the spring kits are a piece of cake to install and the video that is available really makes it easy. However, there are two exceptions to this that I know of. I purchased the spring kit for the Springfield Hellcat RDP. That pistol has a manual safety on it. The video was of a Hellcat that did not have that. There are some extra parts in the RDP and two, in particular, are extremely easy to lose. It is the spring and detent for the safety. They are held in place by being positioned against other parts and when disassembled, they tend to fly out. There was no mention of this difference in the video and I see no reason to re-do the video, however, it would have been nice to have had maybe a 2 minute video showing how to deal with that portion of the process. I had the exact same problem installing the spring kit into a Ruger LCP2 in .22 caliber. One or two different parts that just fell out and it took forever to figure out how to get it together. I know that you cannot cover all the various configurations in one video, however, a heads-up about these variances would have been great. Again, you guys do a great job with everything I've gotten from you. Love your kits and parts and am a dedicated customer.
This kit provides absolutely the perfect trigger pull pressure. I’d never broken down any pistol that far and had initially thought of taking it to a gunsmith. But decided to watch their video for my Hellcat. The video was so step by step, I just did it myself, albeit slower that molasses in the winter (2 hours). If you own a Hellcat, stop cussing the pistol and buy this mod and start enjoying shooting it a it should have been delivered from factory!
If I had seen the install video before I purchased my Hellcat I would not have bought it. I learned about the plastic striker spring sleeve here. The stainless steel sleeve is a great upgrade and a solid peace of mind. I do not know how much the trigger pull was reduced but it was enough to notice. Polishing the sear and other parts really smoothed it out also, which helped with accuracy. I liked the pistol before the upgrades. I love it now.
Just installed the spring kit pretty much following the video. Easy. The trigger is right around 4.5-4.75 and crisp. The reset is really nice. I'll be at the range next week (work as an RSO so I'm there all the time), so after I put a couple hundred through it, I will be carrying it again. Really quality parts and video. ps. If you put the sear spring pin in first and then the sear, it's a lot easier to install.
Just finished installing the spring kit for my hellcat. Took it out on the range and immediately felt the difference in take up and break. It was easy to install following the Mcarbo video. I only wish I had seen the replacement trigger as well.
My trigger pull is Wonderfull. But, the installation video was the best I've ever seen. 4 years in the US Air Force as an armament technician and I never saw a technical vid as complete and informational as this one. The instructor is good and made it so easy by which he communicated everything. Thank you for quality parts and making it effortless to install.
This is like night and day. The instillation was super easy with the video. The trigger pull is reduced nicely and so much smoother. Only down side is you will need to buy alot of ammo because its so enjoyable to shoot the gun now.
Seems to work pretty well you made quite a difference for the better not hard to put in but I definitely suggest watching the video takes you step by step
Upgraded my Hellcat Pro and it feels like an entirely new gun. Great parts for greatly enhanced trigger pull and accuracy. I would absolutely recommend this upgrade as a must for anyone who wants a cleaner breaking and lighter trigger pull. These are better than factory parts and also increase the reliability and functionality of the pistol. Thank you guys for doing what Springfield should have done from the factory, especially for the price they charge for the Hellcat/Hellcat Pro!
I purchased one expecting not much difference but definitely it does. It reduced a good 3.5 average. Would recommend.
I don't have any way to test the actual change in trigger pull, but it is noticeably better with this kit installed. The pull is lighter, the break is cleaner, and its nice to have a metal striker sleeve versus the stock plastic one. It was a little tricky to install since I haven't worked striker fire platforms before. I'd rate the install difficulty somewhere between installing an AR15 trigger assembly and a 10/22 trigger pack. I would recommend this kit 100%.
Received the kit quickly and after watching the video the install went flawlessly (no lost parts!). Did significant polishing while it was apart and reduced trigger pull from high 5# to mid 3# with a big improvement in smoothness.
I measured my pre installed Hellcat trigger kit. It was 6.5 lbs. After it is a stiff 5.5 lbs. I was expecting a 30 % decrease. But I cannot really feel the difference. Disappointed, Randy Rolando
Dropped my Hellcat's trigger pull from 6.5-7lbs down to 4.25-4.5 lbs. When I had the gun apart, I used the polishing kit to buff any wear/contact areas. The gun definitely feels smoother and nicer now. Thanks.
