the guide rod arrived quickly and installed it with no problems and it works like a dream mcarbo is a very good company to deal with I'm proud to deal with other veterans I'm not as young as these guys did my time from 1981 to 1991 they are good people
Visually seems to be the exact length, width and shape of the original. Very smooth stainless steel finish. The original had galling seen through the black finish with 500 rounds. I am sure this will remain "as is" with a micro dot of oil after cleaning.
Part came in fast and exactly as described. Definitely will do business again in the future.
I haven't had a chance to fire the pistol since replacing the guide rod but I don't expect any issues since I can manipulate the slide with no issues. I'll never fire enough 380 rounds to test the strength and reliability.
About as easy as it gets to install. Great upgrade that won’t break the bank. My stainless steel guide rod brings all the ladies to the yard.
Installed seemed smooth
Works well. Not sure absolutley needed, but prefer the stainless steel rod even if only for the looks when I tear down the gun for cleaning.
With all the upgrades, it significantly improved the pistol. IMO use the 12lb spring, the 10lb one is too light for carry and doesn't feed all types of ammo. The 12lb spring gave me an average trigger pull in the mid-4lb range. The upgraded trigger can be set to have almost no travel, which was my issue with the stock gun. It also has a more noticeable reset than the stock trigger. It eliminates the annoying metallic "ping" sound when dry firing as well. From a non-gunsmith (but someone who tinkers) the video provided by this company is easy to follow. Make sure you buy the correct loctite and punches before disassembling the gun though. Just spend the extra money and get everything, feels like a pro tuned performance center gun now. Also, if you are replacing the recoil spring, make sure to put the original INNER spring back into the gun. The stock gun uses 2 recoil springs and the upgrade is only the outer spring.
My LCP MAX came with a metal recoil spring guide rod stock (not plastic), But still, this easily has $10 worth of Cool Factor to me. Great M*CARBO value part, again. Super easy install.
This is so much more than the factory part, the selection of material and maching are superb. Worth the price of admission.
Great replacement part - easy and simple to install just be careful with the two rod springs that come with the gun when removing the slide. part is stainless steel and works great. I do wish it had a captured spring however
Probably not really needed to replace the original steel rod, but I like stainless steel
You can tell the spring slides more easily along the stainless guide rod compared to factory but I don’t know if this makes any performance or reliability difference. Looks nice and high quality, easy installation.
I installed this at the same time as all other available springs and trigger, and together, they really brought the pistol up to another level. It's hard to say how much of a difference this makes by itself, but for $10, I see no reason not to. It takes less than a minute to install and has zero drawbacks.
Ordered guide rod and takedown pin. Also ordered gunsmithing tools. All tools and pistol parts are good quality. Shipping time was quick.
