High quality, easy install, works great
Just received the trigger and spring kit for my LCP Max. Followed the installation video, and 20 minutes later was done. The build quality and tolerances are top notch as always, and the sound dampening of the springs and the adjustable trigger reset really make it a whole new pistol! As the title says, excellent as always. Keep up the great products!
Easy to install. Greatly reduced trigger pull and a bonus of no more spring twang.
Trigger is sub 5lbs now which greatly helped with shot placement. Awesome bang for your buck,as usual, from Mcarbo!
Following the installation video, I installed the upgrade kit with no problem. My LCP Max shot well at the range after the upgrade; trigger pull went from avg. 7.95# to avg. 5.1# with the 10# hammer spring (avg. 6.7# with the 12# spring). I am well pleased with the result! As an engineer, I really appreciate the striker installation tool included with the kit, it made a tricky bit of the work a lot easier - outstanding customer focus! One unintended consequence that may play out as troublesome for some, but not for me...(I am not complaining about the product, to be clear). With the lighter MCARBO firing pin spring, the firearm would not function with my laser training cartridge at home. Pull the trigger and the laser illuminated, but would not shut off until I rack the firearm. As one might imagine, the software went nuts when the laser did not shut off - it kept registering another 'shot' every half second or so until I shut off the laser or swung the muzzle off the laser target. It took a bit of time to narrow the problem with the laser cartridge down (and I love to troubleshoot, so this was fun), but once I removed the MCARBO firing pin spring and re-installed the OEM spring, the laser cartridge resumed working as normal - I get the proper 'blink' of laser light when the trigger is pulled, and the software registers the 'shot' as normal. The OEM firing pin spring is significantly stronger and longer than the MCARBO spring, so this all makes sense. With the OEM firing pin spring my trigger pull with the 10# hammer spring went up a bit (0.7#) to avg. 5.8#, which is still a nice improvement. I will probably leave the OEM spring in place for now since winter is closing in on us here and I'll be doing more indoor practice for a while. I may try to find an 'in between' spring on my next visit to my favorite hardware store that still stocks a few hundred springs. Keep up the great work brothers!
The trigger went from what's expected from a pocket pistol of this size to something unexpected. Much crisper trigger break and the 12 pound spring is about perfect for this size handgun. Much better groupings after the addition. Thanks MCARBO for great upgrade products.
This spring kit and the flat short stroke trigger kit have transformed this little gun. Just do it. This is the way it should have been from the factory.
See pic. I noticed when installing the firing pin spring that it was much weaker than the stock one. I was obviously right but I wish I didn't even put it in.
I decided to upgrade the trigger on my LCP Max due to the bite the oem trigger gave every time I used it. I went with the spring kit and decided to do the 10 # spring for the lighter pull and no more toy sound when the trigger was pulled, what a difference and it was an easy upgrade following the youtube video. Total install for trigger and spring was 30 mins (this was my first time upgrading a gun). I tried the gun today and only had 2 light strikes on 1 brand of ammo, another brand worked perfectly. I also added the synthetic grease to the sear and hammer when they were apart, just to make sure it was complete. Recommend the upgrades.
Works exactly as advertised.. kind of a rarity these days. Trigger is so much better. Would recommend to all.
Somewhat of a pain to install following the video instructions. I did not order the flat trigger upgrade but did follow the instructions for installing the trigger spring. Only the trigger spring supplied did not match the web site photo and I assume was only for the flat trigger upgrade. I did send in a support request along with a photo of the stick spring and the differently shaped spring supplied with the kit (no response at this time). So reinstalled the original trigger and spring. Result is an easier pull, just not sure what to do about the incorrect trigger spring.
Quality spring set, did wonders for an LCP max. Reasonable shipping times and easy to install. Made a world of difference in the trigger. For the money, I would recommend all day long!
Installed these springs and have a 100% improvement in trigger pull. I can now pull the trigger without breathing hard. Just kidding but my Max did have an extremely tough trigger pull. No more.
I added the 10 lb. hammer spring with the lightened firing pin spring. The video helped alot with the not so obvious details, such as firing pin slot orientation and retaining pin depth, etc. The beauty of a lightened hammer spring is that less concentration is focused on exerting trigger manipulation and more focus on holding the aim true. Trigger pull becomes an effortless extension of target acquisition and firing down range. Full disclosure: I added the adjustable trigger kit at the same time too, so the entirety of my impressions are influenced by that change as well. Still, I'm glad I did both modifications. Shooting is comfortable, consistent, and dependable, which is exactly how it should be. I'd do it all again if I need another Ruger LCP Max.
This was a great upgrade and fairly easy install thanks to video. Already had it taken apart while performing trigger install.
I used the 10lb spring combined with the MCARBO trigger upgrade. This made a huge difference. When dry firing the gun no longer makes the "cheap" spring noise that the OEM spring made. I haven't officially tested the trigger pull reduction, but the difference is noticeable!
