Recently obtained a Ruger LCP 75th Anniversary Model LCP Max and took it to the range for 300 rounds of FMJ and a box of Hornaday Critical Defense as a break-in. Installed the MCARBO Guide Rod, Heavy Recoil Spring and Take-Down Pin before going. Had several hang ups with the trigger dingus and a tiny blister on the edge of my trigger finger (wah-wah). Had bought every upgrade for the pistol from MCARBO before I even got the gun, wise move. The following day after having made sure I was happy with the pistol I installed the new Trigger Package and Spring Kit. What a difference it made! The dingus is vastly improved as is the trigger itself, VERY comfortable to pull the trigger now while dry firing(didn't even affect my teeny blister), the travel is smooth as it gets with better take-up and reset breaks like a glass rod. I used the 12lb Spring and it's very light for my liking. I couldn't be happier with the outcome of these upgrades from less than an hours effort, including cleaning. The Videos MCARBO have posted make installation easy to perform and flawless in their performance. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND adding these quality MCARBO parts (all of them) to the Ruger LCP Max, it will take a great little pocket pistol to another level.

Trigger is great; beware though the LCP22 install

As far as I can tell, MCarbo video shows this installation on the .380 version. I strongly urge them to do a LCP II 22LR version; there are extra parts (safety, trigger disconnect) that are really tricky to position and get properly shoved into the outer frame.

Secondly, do not - DO NOT!!! remove that third pin that holds the hammer catch.

I can't stress this enough. ONLY REMOVE THE TWO FRONT AND REAR PINS. I was having issues extracting the inner aluminum frame from the outer polymer frame and stupidly punched out the hammer catch pin. Really bad move that took me hours to get those three parts back in place.

Note: the Ruger manual shows an incorrect sequence of parts for the hammer catch. The far right is the catch, the left is the spring and the spring leg fits in a hole on the left upper part of the catch. You'll need to make your own slave pin if you have to install this. So DO NOT REMOVE IT.

Use some grease to hold the trigger disconnect in place while you push the serialized frame down into the polymer frame.

As MCarbo says, you'll need to keep pushing the hammer catch forward with a small flat blade screwdriver as you push the rear of the inner framer into the out frame. Push the catch forward, push down, repeat 2-3 times until it fully seats.

Good luck. The MCarbo parts are excellent; installation can be VERY difficult. My pain is your gain.

Very nice quality

Overall I’m very satisfied, the trigger went in easy and is a real upgrade from the factory plastic trigger. Machining and tolerances are spot on, I am in the machining industry and was impressed by the fit and finish for the price point. Nice to see someone offering a good product at a great value.

FYI, the install videos are for the LCP II .380, not the .22LR version. There are some notable differences between the two, maybe MCARBO will work up a .22LR install video for the trigger, spring kit and guide pin. Or even a differences video to delineate the .380 from the .22 version.

I was impressed to see MCARBO add a replacement trigger pin. A nice touch that shows they are not a bottom dollar bare minimum operation.

Very Pleased

I installed this at the same time as all other available springs, and it really brought the pistol up to another level. The trigger press before was acceptable, but this did really improve it. It adds to my confidence. Install was pretty easy with their videos and instructions; all in, it took less than half an hour. My range has steel targets set up at 15-18 yards, and I can easily put all 12 rounds on a 1/3 torso with half second splits.

Very Pleased

Much more comfortable that the original that tended to pinch your finger.

Worst experience with a "company"

Did not get to try out the trigger. Ordered 5 days ago and they did not ship it. It clearly said it was in stock. Called today to ask about it, they said they did not shipped it because it was on backorder (somehow), no apologies, nothing. They said it will be back in stock in 1 week then they would ship it out. This is BS. Worst customer service experience I've ever had. Not only that but if you look at their website "they pride themselves to ship an item out the same day"... yeah ok. The guy offered to refund my money and hung up the money immediately. Not cool.

Worthwhile improvement

The M*CARBO replacement trigger for the LCP Max is substantially better than the stock trigger and definitely more comfortable than the other major aftermarket trigger for the LCP Max. It doesn’t totally eliminate the notorious finger pinch associated with this pistol but it makes it quite tolerable. The M*CARBO trigger is well made and easy to install. I would definitely recommend it.
