A must have if you’re replacing the screws.
I opened my Sub-2000 a second time to install the mag release and steel feed ramp and I'm glad I purchased these pins too. One MCARBO button head hex screw froze to the stock aluminum pin and I ultimately had to drill it out. Now both the screws and pins are steel which hopefully would prevent this the next time I open up the Sub-2000.
Why I support Mcarbo: 1. They are Combat Veteran owned. 2. They support the Military/LEO’s (I was both) 3. Their components are Detail Engineered 4. Exceptional QUALITY 5. Customer Service is A+++ 6. They offer ”How To” detailed videos for most components 7. Fast shipping and Outstanding order communications Note: Basically I rebuilt my Kel Tec sub 2000, Gen 2
It makes no sense to have steel screws going into aluminum tube nuts. Steel and aluminum do not mix well. The steel pins are a big plus in the valve and strength of the gun. I strongly recommend installing these pin nuts if doing any type of internal work on the weapon.
your firearm is disassembled anyways, upgrade the pins while you're in there
The original pins from Kel-Tec are a soft aluminum and these are steel. Aluminum strips out, steel not so much. If you EVER need to ope up your Kel-Tec, you are going to want to replace these aluminum pins with MCARBO's grip pins. You will want to upgrade the screws too while you are at it. MCARBO sells the screws and pins with a couple 2.5mm hex keys as a package also.
MCarbo fixed Kel Tec's problem again. Why would Kel Tec put steel screws in aluminum pins to hold the weapon together? My nine year old grandson could strip those factory pins out and not even grunt. My weapon had never been apart, yet when I took it down, the hinge pin was stripped on the left side. It's not like that was an important piece, lol. Anyway, if you open your gun, buy these in advance and put them in with some quality steel button head screws. MCarbo sells another kit with everything you need.
Pins make a huge difference! The trigger spring doesn’t slip behind the pin any longer during reassembly. Buy the kit with the screws as well.
Just bought my keltec sub2k and one of the aluminum grip pins were already stripped. Just not acceptable. I feel much better knowing that these carbon steel grip pins and screws will hold my gun together!
Looks great . Perfect fit . Looking forward to lower feed ramp.
The biggest issue with many of the parts in the KelTec line is that they tend to maximize profit by minimizing quality. Design is good, just mass production at the lowest cost. This addresses the issue of any galling from steel to aluminum that may develop over time. Necessitates disassembly of the firearm, so is best installed when performing other modifications, but certainly a worthy improvement! NOW.... if only MCARBO would offer a set for the KelTec SU16...
Much needed, factory sight pin was cross threaded when attempting to remove screw for first time to install factory supplied sling swivel.chamge them all as you gotta open the rifle up to do one. Do everything they offer at same time! Fairly simple and quick took less than an hour. Totally different rifle. All for the better. Never designed to be baily shooter just a pinch gun a get by. But if stuck out with just this one and no other you sure need it to be a forever gun Do it' all!!! Open it once!!!
You can only imagine that KelTec never intended for their firearms to be disassembled and reassembled... the combination of parts orientation during assembly and the two part stocks and receivers do not lend themselves towards that end. Couple that with the tendency of the cheap steel screws stripping into the threads of the threaded inserts... makes this a VERY critical upgrade... more than most might think!
those metel grip pins are a must, unscrewing frame pins are aluminum and they sometimes strip out'
I bought these expecting that my factory screws would have fit. Well they didnt, if you purchase these make sure you buy the screws also.
Excellent service, exquisite quality, awesome how to videos and easy installation of this and all MCARBO Sub 2000 products. I could not have asked for a better product or experience. MCARBO parts and accessories will without a doubt improve the quality of your Sub 2000, it's reliability and your shooting experience with it.
