Applied trigger return spring to Marlin 25N
Applied trigger return spring to Marlin 25N purchased new in 1990. Initial trigger weight with factory spring was 5.25 to 5.5 lbs. Trigger weight after install install of MCCarbo spring is 4 lbs.
Model 25N Camo
So about 6 months ago I found this camo stocked 25N in .22 LR. Having never seen one, and knowing Marlin accuracy and the price in the pawnshop was very inviting. I brought the rifle home, cleaned and mounted a scope on it and off to the range I went. Accuracy was not what I was expecting bench rest shooting. I typically start group testing with Federal Bulk 38 gr hollow point, but the trigger pull on this rifle was atrocious. So after doing a little research I bought the MCARBO replacement spring for the 917/925 took the rifle apart, removed the trigger and examined all the parts, cleaned them very well replaced the trigger spring and added some Super Lube teflon grease to connecting parts and put it all back together. Trigger pull is now 2 pounds, Cannot wait to get it to the range and see how it does. Currently 7 weeks post op for total knee replacement, and weather is a little cool still here in WV.
spring kit
Some of the best money i've ever spent, had a older Marlin 917v. Terrible trigger, NOW its really a nice one, and repetitive at a solid 2 Pounds every time. You'll not be sorry, going to get one for the ''old'' marlin 25 next.
This spring will not work in Marlin Glenfield 25 22lr, Old Style. Pre 1975
I was told this spring would work with my 1971 Marlin Glenfield Mod. 25 22lr. However, the spring is shorter, and much wider than the original, and would not even function in the stock trigger. The spring is supposed to fit into a slot in the trigger, but wouldn't fit.
Works Great like all MCarbo products have fir me
Reduced trigger pull from 5.5 pounds to 3 pounds. Huge improvement for minimal cost. The trigger mechanism is smooth and breaks clean. The videos make the spring installation job a breeze.
Marlin 25M
I installed the trigger in my marlin 25M , I didn't use a trigger gauge but I can tell it's a little lighter
This spring will not work in Marlin Glenfield 25 22lr, Old Style.
I was told that this spring would work in my 1971 Glenfield 25, but it will not even function. This spring is too wide and too short. Just hangs up. The old style trigger has a small notch in the trigger that the spring fits into. Old style is pre 1975 I believe. You can check before ordering. Old style is .120 " diameter .625 long. Newer .175 D, and .590
long.
Excellent Service and Product
This spring kit works perfectly in my Marlin 925 .22. My trigger pull is light and damn near perfect.
Will this kit work on a 25N?
