I called and left a message and e-mailed asking for input about which new sight would be better to help get my cheek off the bolt tube (the new Peep sight or the Notched one). However, they must have really been busy because I never did receive a response. After a few days, and the price increase, I decided to go ahead and order the Peep sight, based on the verbal comments of Chris in his demo video. I received the new Peep sight in the mail in just a few days. After watching Chris' video (very helpful), I installed the new Peep sight which was very easy and the installation went great. I am happy to say that, not only does the new Peep sight fold down when folding the carbine, mine also fully opens when re-opening the carbine (even though the web site stated it was not anticipated it would be possible and that you'd have to use the lever to open the sight). The fit and quality of the new Peep sight was excellent. I was disappointed however to discover that (after waiting the 24 hour period for the blue thread locker to cure), I held the carbine up and attempted to obtain a good sight picture. I see very little increase in the height of the new sight, as compared to the original factory sight, although the opening (peep) is much larger. I am still NOT able to get a good sight picture without leaving my cheek on the bolt tube. I am able to wear my Remington thin-muffs for ear protection now, with the new sight installed, and I still bump the muffs trying to get a sight picture, but a least they are not knocked totally out of kilter. My whole purpose in buying this new sight was to alleviate the cheek slap received when trying to obtain a good sight picture. In his video, Chris states how much improved the MCARBO sight is over the original factory one, stating it was higher and would get the cheek up off the gun to provide an improved sight picture. So, although I think the quality material and workmanship put into the new sight is great, I don't think it accomplishes what it is stated to vastly improve (getting the cheek well up off the bolt tube to obtain a good sight picture). I think, for the $64.95 price I expected much more. I gave this a 4 star because it does help some by minimally increasing the sight height and improves the visual area by greatly enlarging the peep hole. But, I cannot give it a 5 star because I do not feel that it delivered on its stated expected improvement. However, before I make a final judgment on the product, I WILL first make a trip to the range and see if I might have to eat my words. I certainly hope when I try the new sight at the range that it makes a large, noticeable improvement in sight picture and reduction of cheek slap. If it does, I will revise my review and up grade to a 5 star rating. I will NOT leave it a 4 stars.
This is a awesome made sight and very easy to install , makes a big difference shooting the sub2000 gen2 all so looks great works perfect, thank you M CARBO gary from N.H.
This sight can be dropped forward, thus making possible to use a flip up mount with optics that extends rearward over the sight (say, red dot with magnifier). Forks fine as expected. Adds some important options.
Very easy install, install video is very easy to follow, took less than 10 minutes, can't wait to go to the range to test sight out.
For those of you who own a Kel-Tec Sub 2000 or for that matter anything listed on the McCarbo site I can tell you from experience the service and quality is outstanding! In the event you find yourself with a question about a part or installation they will answer quickly and with correct data to complete the project. At 82 I have had the opportunity to purchase from many companies and will rank McCarbo among the top 5! Well Done!

Bought the new rear peep sight. Shipped fast, nicely made, installed easily. Haven't got to shoot it yet due to the crappy weather but the sight picture is much improved. Great email communication from Mcarbo. Seems like a classy outfit.
I purchased the peep sight because the original sight forced me into an uncomfortable position. The raised sight made target acquisition easier and improved my accuracy. It was very easy to install. I highly recommend it.
I went with the notch sight and they are a really nice upgrade. They are a bit taller and makes sighting targets easer, and they are aluminum instead of plastic.
Picked up this replacement sight after seeing the installation video online. The sight went on exactly as shown in the video (literally 5 minutes), and is a solid upgrade over the original flimsy plastic sight. I haven't used it at the range yet, but I can already tell that the field of view is vastly improved over the standard sight. (I purchased the peep sight instead of the notch sight). Another excellent product from MCARBO! Keep up the excellent work!

I have just installed my Mcarbo rear folding "peep" sight on my kel-tec sub2000 gen 2. All I can say is what was Kel-tec thinking with the original sight? The new sights have transformed my sub2000 into an actually usable firearm. Top marks for Mcarbo!
Much better site position for tall or big headed guys such as me. Straightforward install, definitely a worthwhile upgrade.
You’ll like iron sights again with this must have upgrade. No more taco neck face planting on the bolt tube, super easy install.
Love that this is a metal part and not the stock plastic and being able to fold it down to use other optics... but most of all is the hole is way bigger( not the pinhole stock size) making it way easy to get aimed in without a crazy squint... thanks again for knocking it out of the park!!!
