After a bit of a wait to get the sight, it was well worth the wait. Easy to install. With the rear sight taller than the stock one, you get a painless cheek weld. It took me a few shots to get it back on target, I went the wrong way on the front sight. I needed to get the impact lower and I was going the wrong way with the front sight adjustment....once I figured out what a knuckle head I was, it was easy to get the shots one target.

This sight is a pretty cool little upgrade. Goes on super easy. no need to crack the sub open. The field of view is actually a field of view now. Very nice machining. It is a touch stiff but this isn't a bad thing considering recoil. MCARBO customer service is second to none. My first shipment was lost in the mail and they sent out a replacement no questions asked. Another great upgrade and in my opinion a very necessary one for the S2k. Thanks guys. Keep it up.

It’s much easier to sight in now. Taller peep sight with larger larger diameter makes it a lot easier to acquire the target.

Great product and easy to install.

Taller rear notch site should come with higher front site post

The taller notch site was easy to install per the installation video. But, in order to get the front sight post high enough to give me an 'equal height, equal light' view, as I am used to with my pistols, I had to purchase a taller front site post from another vendor. This height problem was glossed over in the install video and I think it should have been addressed by offering a taller site post and adjustment tool as part of the package if desired.

With my new easy to install rear peep notch I won’t have to mash my cheek into the bolt tube! Couple that with the life saver bushing, and the bolt tube cover, and this thing’s smoother than a dang Cadillac!

THANKS SO MUCH

I love my Kel-Tec Sub-2000, but the cheek weld was horrible. You have to crush your face into the stock to acquire a good sight picture. I installed the notched sight upgrade, and it is awesome. I sighted the 40 cal in at 110 yards on a six inch plate with these "iron sights". It makes the rifle much more enjoyable to shoot. Excellent home defense weapon!

The Sub2000 is a great and fun gun. I fired it in a stock configuration for my first couple hundred rounds. My only problem was the stock sights. They sit so low, that I had to cram my cheek against the buffer tube to get my eye low enough to have a decent sight-picture. After a few firing a few magazines, this was noticeably uncomfortable. This sight completely fixes the issue! The aperture is higher and large enough to get a "combat" view, as opposted the factory "peep" view. It barely raises the center of the aperture, but it's a world of difference. It's now way easier to shoot and I can even comfortably shoot with both eyes open. I like it so much that I've decided to completely avoid an optic, altogether. The only issue is that it doesn't have the "wings" that automatically raise the sight with the unfolding of the Sub2000. You have to make a quick flip of a switch to raise the sight. This is ideal if you are using top-mounted optics, but I really like the open sights now!

Frankly the original rear sight on the SUB-2000 is awful. I was warned about it not working for all shooters due to being so low and having such a small aperture, but I never realized how uncomfortable it is to use until I picked one up. Fortunately this sight fixes all of those problems as well adding a manual fold-down feature for red dot sights. If you are only going to get only one mod for the SUB, make it this one. You will be glad you did.

The factory sights are low which makes you rest your cheek on the receiver to get a good sight. Your cheek will feel like you spent an evening getting punched by Mike Tyson after a day at the range. The MCarbo sights fix this problem.

About that kick, get the recoil buffer, recoilless charging handle, and muzzle brake. I also bought the bolt cover which keeps my face off the metal cover. That said, the sights are easily the best upgrade as they keep you from getting beat up.

This is the best rear flip sight for your sub2k. I installed mine on the left so that I can flip up or down, without taking my hand off the firing handle. You can install on the other side if you are left handed. Also, if you install an optic, it helps you to zero your scope.

The aperture is larger and provides a full picture of the front sight. Where as the original just showed the front post and just a little of the side guards.

If there are any upgrades you have not done, now Is the time to purchase because you have to completely disassemble your rifle to install this. I highly recommend the s/s feed ramp if nothing else. But the trigger spring kit is my number two recommendation. If you have never had your rifle apart, definitely watch chris's video. I watch it EVERY time I take my rifle apart.

I would rate this a +5 on their scale of 5. Great product, great price, and great people to deal with.

This should be your 1st S2K upgrade.

The Sub 2000 is my first carbine after many years of shooting handguns. I bought it for plinking but it runs so well I am going to use it for home defense. I really couldn’t get a good sight picture fast enough with the OEM rear sight to use it in a low light home defense scenario. I got the notched sight and now I have an awesome sight picture. I did replace the front sight post with a luminescent dagger post and put some luminescent tape to outline the rear site for low light shooting.

It was easy to install. I have never used folding sights so shot it for awhile to get the tension correct before gluing the screws in. You do have elevate the front sight post. You can use a toothpick and needle nose pliers or hemostat if you don’t have an AR15 sight post tool.

If you are using your S2K for personal or home defense, this should be you first upgrade. If you shoot handsguns a lot, get the notched sight. If shoot AR15s a lot get the peep sight.
