I am one of the few that didn't have a problem with the height of the stock sight. That being said I ordered the new taller sight anyway. I just installed it and I really like the larger aperture, much easier and faster target acquisition. Being taller is it a more comfortable and better check weld. If I choose to put a red dot on it the fold down feature is a must for me. Now MCARBO needs to come out with a nicer front sight that folds down.
I've added just about all the Mcarbo pieces to my sub . This rear sight was probably the last thing I think I'll need. And it did get my head up from the tube. Every part I put in has fit perfectly, and has been an improvement. Not only in the way it functions, but it is also more comfortable when I run it. And I appreciate the fact that there is a video showing how to replace the factory part.
I got the peep version and its definitely a bigger peep hole than the factory and I love the folding capability which allows me to use just my optic and the front site if I want. Although I can co-witness with all three due to the height of the MCarbo rear site and how my optic is set up. Worth the money and I am ordering a second one soon for my other Sub 2K! I wouldn't mind a smaller lever so it would be less conspicuous but I am more of a aesthetics guy, where the size of the lever is designed for function so its easy to feel.
Kel-Tec should be ashamed of putting such a pig on the market. In a way, it may have saved me some coin, because I was eyeballing a KSG. If it's constructed like this weapon, barely functional without putting a dozen upgrades on it, I want nothing to do with it. I have the improved rear sight installed. I can't get the front sight post high enough to sight it in. It comes out of its spring-loaded retainer pin. BTW Kel-Tec, thanks for putting a non-mil-spec diameter sight post in this thing. I really hate using those Troy or Daniel Defense adjuster tools anyway, why do it the easy way? Sort of the theme for the entire weapon.
My new rear sight is a major improvement over the factory one. I went with the open sight, just to get a little more elevation for my eyeball. Installation was a breeze. Highly recommended.
These sights are definitely an upgrade. Acquiring the sight picture is so much easier. I chose the peephole - the notch are probably just as good. You can't go wrong with either.
While only a bit taller than the stock sight, any little bit helps. And the aluminum construction feels much beefier. Problem I ran into is that crappy original front sight couldn’t adjust high enough. So I purchased replacement front sight from Red Lion. Problem solved & my Subbie is once again a tack driver. Like to see MCarbo put out a replacement front sight as well. Another great upgrade from an oustanding co run by quality individuals
works very well, super easy and gives a great lower 1/3 co-witness and is easier to see and flips down do problem. it may take so lubing and tweaking to get the screw tighened where it folds up when you open it. rock solid though
This is a drastic improvement over stock sights, and if you have an optic that you want to co-witness with the front sights, you can flip it down.
The Notched Sight is so much better for me. Way quicker to lock on target. Thanks very much.
Perfect addition to my Sub2000! Gives a great sight picture!!!
Good upgrade from small one that it came with from the manufacture. Did I really need it no, but worth it!
Just received my folding sight kit for my sub 2000. Very easy to install. If it took me even 5 mins, very easy to install. Took longer to find my allen wrench than to install it. What a difference it makes. Slide adjustment on the front sight and it back to being dead on. Good job guys a and I will be ordering things
I went back and forth on which one to get. I landed on the notch and man am I happy with my decision. Dang I loooove this sight! Make sure to watch the video on the best way to install. Super helpful.
If you are wondering which upgrade to do first, do this one. It is a fantastic improvement in getting a comfortable and rapid sight picture than what you get from the stock sights. And durable too. Mine arrived in only 3 days to Texas accompanied by phenomenal follow up customer service from the MCARBO guys. They really care about their customers.
Absolutely better quality than the stock sites. These sites are still too low though to see the target.
