Horrible trigger on my model 70 at 5+ lbs with over-travel and creep causing poor groupings at longer range. I was ready to buy a replacement trigger at $200+. My son saw your website and suggested I give it a try. Kit was delivered 3 days after I ordered it. After watching you installation video I installed it in less that 10min. Solved all my problems. Best $12.95 I ever spent.
I don't have a way to measure my trigger pull, but it has gone from extremely hard to wonderful. The how to instructional video made the whole process easy to do.
The short: The product works as advertised and cut my trigger pull weight by half. Watch the YouTube video first, and then give it a shot. It is not terribly difficult. Also! Make sure you put your action/barrel back in the stock before trying to measure trigger pull (more on that below). Follow the video to a "T" and you WILL have good results. The long: Upon first installing the spring, I found no decrease in trigger pull weight when I measured the pull of the trigger with the action separated from the stock. I took it apart and reassembled it 3 times and got the same results (4.5-5.5# pull, the same as before I exchanged the springs). I called MCarbo and spoke with their gunsmith and he told me that this was the 1st time he had ever heard of an issue with this kit. Kudo's to MCarbo, they immediately sent me a new kit to replace the first. At this point, I was frustrated but happy that they were doing their best to rectify the situation. At this point I figured I would reassemble the rifle and stash it away until the new spring arrived. Upon the full assembly completion, I tried the trigger pull again. 2.75#! I tried again, 3#, and again and again...The kit worked! I am not sure why but when the stock was off, the trigger pull was much heavier. When assembled to the stock, it worked as advertised. All this to say, follow the video and you will get great results. Great product, great company, would definitely recommend to anyone with a post 2008 Winchester Model 70!
Installed this in my Model 70 Featherweight in .300 WSM. The rifle was purchased in 2002 and it came with a very heavy trigger from the factory. Installation of the spring was very easy thanks to the video. What a difference! Clean, crisp, and breaks like glass. Highly recommend this trigger spring.
I was looking to make the trigger easier to pull. The factory trigger spring was a bit stiff. So I order this and installed it for Christmas Day. It was an very easy installation. Before installing it, I checked the factory trigger pull and it was a little over 5lbs. After installing the new spring, it was just under 2lbs. Needless to say, it made all the difference when it counted. My son was able to shoot his first deer with it two week later. I believe that the easy of pull made it easier for him to stay on target while squeezing the trigger. The deer never took another step!! Thanks for making a great product!
Save yourself the money of a new trigger assembly. The spring took 4 pounds out of my trigger pull. Super easy installation.
This spring is a great replacement part and has a great feel, making the trigger break much more clean. It’s not often you get a company who’s this concerned about customer satisfaction. Thank guys for the great product and great service!
I installed these springs in 2 of my Model 70’s, one built in 1972 the other in 2005. The difference in both triggers is astounding. I don’t have a trigger pull scale to give numbers but trust me, this is an awesome upgrade. I was a little worried that it would make the triggers too light for hunting but that’s not the case at all. They are PERFECT! After adjusting over travel they both break sharply just like the MOA trigger in my new production Featherweight. A big thanks to MCARBO for putting out this product AND the videos for installing it. Great work...keep it up!
I started with a decent 4.5lb trigger pull on my Winchester 70 Ultimate Shadow in 7mm-08. After installing this spring kit I’m consistently at 2.2lbs. Fantastic results. I highly recommend this if you own a 2008 or newer Model 70
I installed this is my old Winchester mod 70, 30-06 and what a difference it made. You don't realize how stiff and hard the trigger really is until you make it better. This lit along with some minor polishing and I now have a sweet shooter with a much lighter and crisp trigger pull. easy to install, get one for your model 70 today. You won't regret it!
Did a little honing job and replaced spring. Scale reads 2.1lbs every pull. No creep. Beat it around a little with saftey off , no hammer drop. Feels as good if not better than a drop in trigger.
This trigger spring was the perfect fix for my model 70 trigger. Easy to install, about 10 minutes, and a perfect consistent trigger pull.
The trigger spring took my 4+ lbs trigger pull on my model 70 down to an even 2 lbs. The installation video helped me put it in and remove the over-travel it had. The trigger is now perfect. My 338 Win Mag is going to have much tighter shot groups. A must have at a fraction of the cost.
Got myself this upgrade for my rifle and what can i say....BLOODY HELL i love it should of got this ages ago. Can't wait to get it in the field. It was so easy to assemble . Thankyou to all the M*Cabo crew for making it possible.considering it had to be delivered from across the other side of the planet it arrived very quickly. A huge thumbs up Will deffinatly deal with you guys again in the futuer
I cannot recommend highly enough to get this trigger kit (just a spring - I have the pre-2008 model - probably ,manufactured around 1992) for your Winchester Model 70. If you watch the video, installation is SUPER simple (watch it all the way through BEFORE you start doing the work to save yourself a step or two). I used to have to PULL the trigger to get the gun to fire and it almost always made me inaccurate since I never knew when I'd applied enough pressure to release the firing pin (kind of jerked it to fire). Now, it's a GOOD surprise with a SUPER light touch on squeezing the trigger for it to fire. I just can't say enough about how much nicer the trigger pull is now. Finally matches the quality of the rest of the gun!
I got this spring kit for a mod 70 featherweight that had an awful trigger video made it simple to install trigger measured 1.75 pounds when done great upgrade
