I have installed on a couple of my model 70s and now both triggers are identical. Turned my only dislike on model 70s into a light crisp and predictable trigger action. Am now going to install on my remaining model 70s
My Model 70 had a usual Winchester trigger pull of just over 5lbs. making hard to shoot constant small groups at 200 yards. The original adjustable trigger just didn't cut it and was not very adjustable at all. After installing the Mcarbo trigger spring the gun shoots amazingly more accurate and consistent, and the install took less than an hour with all the take down install and adjustment. This is an excellent product and easy to install Thanks.
Easy install. Instructions straight forward. My trigger scale showed 2lbs. No creep or after travel and breaks like glass. Very pleased with the upgrade and the folks at Mcarbo. Thanks
Wow, what a difference with one spring. I've been trying for years to get a consistent trigger pull out of my model 70's with no luck. I bought two springs installed them in two M70's and now I have a consistent and light trigger pulls. I'm ordering two more. Very easy installation. Thanks MCARBO for a great product.
This is the best bang for the buck trigger upgrade you can do to your model 70! After installation and adjusting for overrun, the trigger break is like glass with no perceivable trigger movement. I haven't measured the pull yet, but I'm guessing just under 2lbs. There's absolutely no reason to spend a ton of money on a new trigger system when you can keep the simple Winchester system and have such incredible feel. You owe it to yourself to give this a try!
It was easy to install, didn’t change trigger pull only by half a pound. I believe spring on shear is too strong to reduce it any more.
The review is for fitment and installation. Removal of existing and replacement with the MCarbo spring is a fast and simple process. Replacement spring slides in place very easily. Trigger feels cleaner, but I have yet to fire it so cannot attest to the specific trigger pull weight reduction. For the spring kit price there is very little risk so a slight improvement is worth the cost
I have had my .243Win Model 70 Winchester since new 38 years ago. Semi-retired the rifle because other rifles have taken precedence. Took the old girl out of the safe and gave it a run on some 300 metre metal plate targets with a long time hunting friend. He commented that the rifle was still a "goody" but the trigger is "shit" and "my eyes can't see through 6x scope anymore." I have other Model 85 Sako rifles with set triggers and agreed with him as our eyes are not what they used to be. I searched Youtube for curiosity and found the M Carbo Youtube video and the website. I bought the replacement spring and fitted it within minutes as per the Youtube video I had watched. I don't have a trigger pull tester but it is so crisp and light to fire. I would recommend this simple upgrade to any Winchester Model 70 owner. It does make me reflect though which idiot at Winchester thought the factory trigger spring was suitable in the first place if such a fine aftermarket is available today. I would suggest it is a 200% improvement. Thank you M Carbo and I will tell my Australian friends.
This trigger spring did the trick. It greatly reduced the weight of the trigger pull. I watched the video and that made the install quick and easy. In a couple minutes I had addressed a problem with my model 70 that had bugged me for years.
Bought this for my M70 Super Shadow .270 WSM which, according to my Lyman scale, was breaking around 6lbs. Threw this spring in and am now averaging 2lb. 6oz. Does what it says, not to mention MCARBO's how-to video was on point and easy to follow. Once again great job on a fine product.

Put the spring in today and marvel at the difference. Great product and an easy install but do watch the video first. One glitch I encountered was the bolt would not cock after the install unless the trigger guard screws and the floor plate screw were all tightened slowly carefully and sequentially. The rear trigger guard screw in particular seems to have caused a bind.
I researched the triggers for My winchester Mod 70 in 338 win mag.It seemed to be a good product. I ordered it and installed it with the on line video. I feel that this has transformed this trigger for the best I'm building this gun for a up coming bucket list Elk Hunt. WOW no creep and a safe trigger pull. Just about 1.9 pounds. Trust me I'm all about safety. I actively teach the NY state Hunter education class. This is the real deal trigger kit. Thank you a great product.
Really liked this product, my factory trigger pull went from 5 lbs 14 oz ti a crisp 1.6 lb. Amazing and simple to install. Highly recommended!!
Shipping right on time installation video was helpful but I didn't achieve results I was after. It definitely improved pull weight but only to 5lbs from 6.5- 7lbs. Probably due to factory trigger design it was worth a try factory trigger is terrible. I usually use jewel triggers going to try Timney drop in due cost.
