This product and associated polishing has changed my gun from good to great. Also the people at Mcarbo are very professional, pleasant, thorough and easy to do business with.
The video really helps if you are not an expert like myself. As a DIY guy I found this to be a simple task. I put in right at 2 hours to complete polishing parts and spring/shim install. I have very large hands so doing some of the fine work was a challenge, the right tools do help. I do not have a trigger pull gauge, so I do not have a exact before/after number, but I can say the trigger is much smoother and lighter than before. I am guessing I am around the 5-6 pound pull range. It should help me out alot with accuracy and target relocate. I recomend taking your time, do it right, and enjoy the time.
Although I have not used it at the range yet the trigger pull feels much better. I did not have too many problems on the install but it was a little tricky at some points. The spring that I was warned about did shoot of into space and I had to hunt for it. Thank you I like the upgrade very much so far. Bud Stelley
Transformed the action on my Ruger SP101!
Perfect product. Complete install video. Thanks!!
I purchased the Ruger SP101 spring kit after watching the video instructions on YouTube. The product was exactly as described and the video made a very intricate job easy and enjoyable. The shipping was very fast and the results were amazing. Thanks M-Carbo!!!
Followed the video which is well shot with good close up views. Learned a lot along the way. Really happy with the result. Good single action reduction, great reduction on d/a, overall much smoother. For 20 bucks on a gun you spent a few hundred on, makes no sense not to do it.
First of all let me thank mcarbo for the great video on the SP 101 video. I purchased the spring kit and performed the steps within the video and the results were beyond my exspectations. Thanks again the video made all the difference.
The stock trigger pull on the SP101 I bought to teach my wife to shoot using a double action revolver was too stiff for her to use. I searched the net and found M-Carbo and ordered a set of springs. They arrived quickly and the packaging was well done. Installation was easy and, even though had previously done the same job on a Security-Six years ago, their YouTube video ensured that I wasn’t forgetting anything. My wife can now easily squeeze the trigger. While we haven’t yet taken it to the range, so far the results are excellent.
I bought this kit along with the other items in the YouTube video and within about 2 hours was able to take my GP100 from having a rough trigger that felt like it was grinding to silky smooth. Follow the instructions on the video, have a well lit clean workspace and take your time. This was my first time doing any work on a firearm and it was not at all difficult. The results are well worth the time.
I've completed 2 GP100 and 1 SP101 kit. Everything has worked extremely well except for the newest GP100. The 2 springs for the trigger return did not work on the new GP100. Had to go back to OEM spring. Otherwise the videos, Instructions, springs, shims, polish, and overall products are spectacular. Would recommend to anyone, just be aware if your having grief with your trigger not completely pulling back, or hammer not cocking back fully, the trigger return spring could be the wrong length.
Excellent!!! Beats all other spring kits hands down. I've installed 3 no problems, perfect!
Worth the time and effort to put this Spring kit and spacers and takes a little time but well worth that very happy with the results
Awesome results . Watched the video and went smooth and easy.gun shoots better . Even the mag rounds shoot smoother.
I initially installed only the springs. I cleaned up a lot of the visible metal shavings in the gun and after dry firing a few hundred times it was a night and day difference. Tonight I decided to do the full polish. Wow! It feels much smoother and consistent. The springs do a great job but you really have to dry fire a bunch to get it feeling good. The polish brings it up to another level. I was super conservative with the flitz and if I do it again I will likely finish certain areas better. Do yourself a favor and follow the excellent videos posted here and go for it. I am waiting on a tool to polish out my trigger return spring channel but right now it feels pretty good with just a tiny stick at the end of its reset. I can’t believe how rough these guns are finished. Ruger has a great gun here and they are leaving it incomplete before retail sale.
When I got the sp 101 trigger was so bad I didn’t waste ammo trying to learn the trigger. I bought the spring kit installed it now it’s how it should have left the factory! Thanks for a true drop in solution
