This kit was SUPER easy to install - a total of about 15 minutes after watching the YouTube video by MCarbo. And as the video and the advertising promised, there was indeed about a 50% reduction in trigger pull after installation. This upgrade was well worth the price. Also, delivery within the week.
Excellent Video for the tear down and polishing components. Chris did a very good job what to which for for flying springs and shim placement.
Very satisfied with the spring/washer kit. Made a marked improvement in the trigger pull of customer's revolver and makes me feel more confident in revolver's function over manipulating existing factory springs.
I never took D/A revolver apart before, but followed the video exactly. It was a real bugger working to reinstall the trigger group - especially the pawl spring and plunger. I didn't lose it but the pawl pinched the plunger and snapped off the stem. Got another one from Midway. After assembling and reassembling the trigger group 3 or 4 times I finally got it - maybe I didn't have the trigger link plunger laying in there correctly. Anyway, it's all assembled (sans trigger shims) and the action is much smoother and went from 12-13 and 5 lbs, respectively, to 8 and 3 lbs. Very nice. Maybe someday I will again attempt to install the trigger shims, but for now I'll leave it as it is. It has made a huge difference.
The documentation and video made this job a snap. It would have gone a lot faster if I had not been searching the floor for the pawl spring four times - it is amazing how far that can travel if you lose control. The results are amazing!
I really enjoyed installing the trigger kit on my ruger sp101 357 I got the revolver from my sister who inherited it. Apparently someone had a spring kit already installed but I are had flitz and the polishing attachments for my dremel. The video was super helpful and easy to follow. The price is what really got my attention. I am going to do each of my firearm triggers that you have available. Thank you for such a being so detailed in the videos and making such a quality product. I highly recommend your products.
Very nice improvement over the factory trigger. Easy to install . Follow the instructions in the video.
Completed the installation of the Ruger SP-101 trigger kit. It improved the performance greatly. Don't have a trigger scale so not sure the final outcome but it's about half of what is was stock. The Ruger SP 101 is a nice revolver but the stock trigger definitely needs work. It still does not match the trigger on my stock S&W 681 .357 Magnum but that's OK, not many do. The video was most helpful, beats reading instructions. Written instructions are available but didn't need them. Pay attention to flying springs, had to search for mine, it was behind the frig. Service from Mcarb is great. Will purchase trigger kit for my old Ruger 10-22 in the future.
Installed this after watching video several times and my trigger is now much much better. Now it breaks in single action at 4 lbs. Double action is so much better. This is a awesome kit and made with quality items. Money well spent! Thanks Mcarbo
A couple of years ago i installed a lighter 9 lb trigger spring in this gun, hoping my wife could pull the trigger w/out using 2 fingers; 9 lbs was still too heavy a pull for her. Saw the Mcarbo video on this gun. He got the trigger pull down to under 5 lbs. After polishing and installing the kit, I could NOT get this down to under 7 lbs. I was disappointed, but the up-side is that now my wife can pull the trigger.
Very good quality well package YouTube Presentation by M CARBO is a great help.
what a difference trigger is nice and smooth and easy
I had a gunsmith install the kit and what a difference, like night and day - my wife can now comfortably shoot the revolver! Uh Oh M*Carbo service wasn't bad either. They have more good stuff - will be doing business with them soon. More power to you Chris
Just completed the trigger spring mod using the very easy and comprehensive guides with great results! Got just about a 7 pound DA pull which is great for wife self defense. Made one little change to your procedure - instead of using 1000 grit after the 1/4 inch drill bit debur, I reduced the size of one of the dremel polishing bits (took about 30 seconds) until it fit the trigger return spring channel and polished it that way.
I bought this kit to install on a friend’s gun because she could not pull the stock trigger. I followed the video step by step and polished all the parts. I couldn’t get the gun to fire after installation of the new springs or after reinstalling the old springs. By accident I found out that even after seating the hammer as shown in the video you needed to pull the trigger and then pull the hammer back by hand at the same time. The kit reduced the trigger from 12lbs to 7lbs 10oz. She loves the reduction and can pull the trigger now.
