4lb 1oz. This trigger kit was an excellent modification for my Kimber Micro 9 Rapide Dawn. The stock trigger was a little heavy for me. The MCARBO kit fixed that and I feel that my Micro 9 feel great. This is a DIY kit, but I decided to have the specialists at MCARBO polish the internal parts and complete the installation. Note: I also purchased MCARBO’s new Kimber Micro 9 Extra Power Recoil Spring. The combination of the two is AMAZING.
I bought this for my Kimber Micro 9, all stainless with Rosewood grips. Pretty much the same gun you see all over the internet, no prior mods and only about 75 rounds down the pipe so it's not even really broken in. With just a handful of tools and a good YouTube video, this took me about an hour to install. Having a little mechanical aptitude can go a long ways....just saying. You can get all of the tools fairly cheap at Harbor Freight. I cannot tell you what the actual pound drop was in the trigger pull, I don't have a scale. But I can tell that it was cut in about half. I ran a full mag through it after the install and was impressed with how much lighter it was. It was not a hair trigger so I still feel like it is safe to carry cocked and locked. But I also don't feel like I'm getting a forearm workout at the gym after cruising through the brass.
Don't ger me wrong, the product is great. Just a couple of things, getting the sear in and out on the 380 is much harder than the 9mm because of its smaller size. Also give some instructions on how to adjust the sear spring. Keep up the good work!!
I carefully followed the very detailed and helpful video installation instructions for my Kimber micro 9 in 9mm and from a starting trigger pull of 8 lbs I ended up with a 7lb trigger pull averaged over 5 pulls. I was very disappointed but the trigger is a bit crisper than before but almost no reduction in trigger pull. So a SLIGHT improvement in my case, All my other kits except one had better reductions in trigger pulls but nothing significant. One kit actually had a higher trigger pull than the factory so I removed it. My overall impressions are that the trigger kits are hit and miss as far as significant results.
I was very impressed with the result after installing the mcarbo trigger spring kit for Kimber's mirco 9mm. Increased accuracy with a lighter, crisp trigger pull. The most helpful tool was the full break down and install video available on the mcarbo website, with this tool in hand any confidant shooter can install the kit with minimum headaches.
My daughter, is about 100lbs soaking wet, purchased the Kimber micro 9. The factory trigger was way to heavy for her to pull and be accurate. These Springs have made all the difference in the world for her. She now enjoys her Kimber, she shoots accurately and even now carries it every day!
I purchased a Kimber Micro 9 Rapide, thinking that it was the top of the line for their micro 9 line up, but turns out the pistol is kind lacking in multiple aspects. The stock trigger was horrendous and had reliability problems that made the firearm untrustworthy, maybe successfully firing 30% of the range ammo put through it. Once I installed the MCARBO spring set, it increased the successful discharge of the rounds to 80%. The trigger pull was much better after installation, as well as more predictable. The trigger reset was also significantly better. Highly recommend.
I only installed the Firing pin spring and the Hamer spring,after looking at the instructions over and over . But they worked great. But we need a Recoil Spring. The 22lb one on the market just can't be installed .
This took my micro 9 down to a 3 lb trigger pull. Groups are considerably better. The only thing I would caution anyone about is to pay attention to the video section where you are removing the safety detent and spring. That little spring travels a long way if not restrained during disassembly. Other than having to look for my detent and spring the installation was quick and painless and I now have a considerably better shooting gun.
Shipping was super fast. I placed a order after hrs on mon. By noon Tuesday parts shipped. I’m no gunsmith but Install only took about 30 mins. Super easy. Install video was easy to follow. The trigger kit is perfect. Trigger pull still has a wall but the break is clean and light. Could not ask for more.
The trigger pull once installed is like night and day, sooo much lighter and smoother. Highly recommend this upgrade.
Pistol already felt good with 6lb pull. Now??? Between 3.5 & 4lbs. Just incredible. Super simple. Watched the video as usual and followed instructions. Couldn’t ask for more. Great product proudly made in the USA!!! Thank you guys.
I installed the trigger and firing pin spring only, not the softer sear spring. All I can say is wow! What a difference. The trigger is smooth and breaks cleanly at about 4.5lbs. Perfect for a CCW gun. Could not be happier with the results. Please consider offering a stiffer recoil spring. I'd be the first in line to purchase that as well.
