So this was my 2nd pistol to do a trigger spring kit on for a girlfriend...yeah really fellas my pink pistol. The upper disassembled with little effort. The lower may have had a production changes. The 3/32nd punch was far too large to remove the 2 pins, you will have to go quite a bit smaller. Also the pins I swear were put in with epoxy compared to the last brand new pistol I did in September. It took considerable effort to both remove and reinstall the pins without beating the crap out of the frame. Now that they install is done the trigger is perfect, and the run ran flawlessly for the first 100 rounds of break in yesterday.
just installed my 2nd kit for a second sccy cpx-1. easy peasy took all of 20 minutes. totaly satisfied with mcarbo parts, this makes 2 sccy pistols ,2 ruger american rifles ,1 savage axis rifle, 1 marlin rifle. i thank mcarbo for all the parts and tools i have ordered, they are all top notch.
Awesome product! Took my SCCY trigger pull from 8# to 4#!! Fires so smooth! Thanks guys!
wanted reduction but was very concerned there wouldn't be enough pressure to set off primer. shot an enormous selection of rounds without a hiccup. fantastic product- worked as advertised.
Got the sccy c reddot and trigger was hideous. Went the Mcarbo spring kit and WOW. Even my gunsmith commented on its function and break. Can't be happier with the results. For under $400. I have a red dot 10+1 9mm with a fantastic trigger set up. Thank Mcarbo.
Easy to install with video as watching the video pause and go back. The video is fast if your trying to stay with him but it’s so simple and easy first trigger kit I’ve ever installed realisticly took about 35mins and already can tell the difference
I installed this spring kit in the CPX-2 RD and I’m pleasantly surprised. Initial trigger pull was 8 lbs brand new out of the box. The install was straight forward and took very little time to execute. After the kit was installed, the pull registered 5.5 lbs on average. It may get better as the springs relax and more rounds are cycled. The only reason I rated this item only 4 out of 5 stars, is the kit did not reach the lofty goal of 4 lbs of pull. It should not detract from the benefits the overall reduction provides. The firearm is much more manageable than it was previously as groups are much tighter and repeatable.
First I want to say thay I cave completed the installation of the spring kit and have test fired the gun. It works as described and definitely improves the feel and usability of the gun. The only negative is that it was significantly harder than illustrated in the video. The roll pins took a lot of force to get out of the handle. This was solved with the use of a vice and significant force. Also, as my model is the CPX-1 with the safety, I had to source a torx size 6 to remove it. Nothing local so required an online order and a few days wait. The surprising thing was that the trigger also required much more force than in the video and some tapping with a hammer to get it seated all the way.
I thought this was a lot of hype, but my son bought one for his S&W and said it works, so I bought one for my SCCY and WOW! what a difference in my trigger pull. It is a lot smoother and my shot pattern is a lot smaller. watching your video made the upgrade very easy to follow. I like it so much I just ordered another kit for my other SCCY . I can't say enough on much enjoyable this kit makes my outings.
The SCCY CPX-2 kit went into mine. Be sure to get the punches and a block, they'll make the install a lot easier. As always the video Chris put together is detailed and informative, showing all the little nuances. This kit definitely made a positive improvement to the trigger.
I bought this some time back and just got around to installing it the other day. The process required attention, but was quite doable. The result was a trigger that feels completely different. It made the CPX-2 useable, in my opinion. Now the trigger pull is long, as before, but it is much lighter and buttery smooth.
I don't have a measuring device, but my finger and forearm say my wife's trigger pull weight has been cut in half. Dumping mags before could be a forearm work out, like playing bass. I also did a polish job on the feed ramp with the M-CARBO polish kit, butter. The wife loves it, and it was cheap and easy. What more could you ask for. YouTube instructional vid was top notch, and customer service is on point. I also did the spring kit in my M&P.40 1.0, and separate review on that. I did an overall M-CARBO review vid on my YT, copy and paste the link below. Thank you M-CARBO https://youtu.be/B_N3F3Fihqo
The SCCY pistol is well designed and made by Americans. Simple and inexpensive. The trigger pull sucks at 8.5#. I’ve been Gunsmithing for 40 plus years and have worked over hundreds of triggers. Never have I achieved the results on this style of pistol as this spring replacement kit has accomplished. Trigger pull is long but at 4.5 pounds after the kit is installed well worth the improvements. Groups shrank by half. My wife is frail and DA pull mostly impossible for her. With the spring kit installed she can pull it thru with ease. A wonderful improvement ! Semper Fi boys.. well done 👍
I have had my cpx 2 for a couple years now, and it has been a good reliable gun, but the trigger pull was always a turn off for any of my friends/ family. I finally got around to ordering this kit and it is a world of difference. It took me about 10 minutes to install, and everything works perfectly with a much smoother pull. A+
The improvement in the trigger pull after installing these springs is definitely worth it, and you can easily do it yourself by following MCarbo's installation video. It took me about half an hour overall and now my CPX2 is much easier to handle and maintain shots on target.
I received this kit to maine in 3 days! Really nice trigger now the length of pull and reset still very long, but I love the new easy trigger pull. Thanks mcarbo
