Tweaked the hammer spring

On first swapping out the factory springs with the new springs, I only saw a 1lb reduction in trigger pull....down from 8.3 lbs to 7.3 lbs. I decided the stretch the hammer spring a bit and now my hammer pull is down to 4.5lbs....much nicer.

Received the kit promptly. Before I started I used a trigger scale and it showed 8 lbs. Installed the springs with only one minor problem. The trigger bar on my pistol has a grove on the top, not a slot on the side so the trigger spring had to be modified. The dog leg had to be straighten out and curved on the end to ride in the grove. With the job complete I used the trigger again and got 7 lbs. Disappointed to say the least. I then carefully stretched the hammer spring till I got a 5 lbs. pull. For the effort and money spent, I wasn't very happy with the results. Haven't shot it yet so we'll see.

I have bent (3) different punch's trying to remove the (2) frame pin's. I have viewed and tried the different solutions on the forum, with no success. Apparently, the SCCY used in the install video has had the frame pins removed before and therefore were shown to be much easer to remove than on a New SCCY. Perhaps, if I can find a reputable gun smith in my area, I will pay them to install the kit.

First, the trigger spring kit is of top quality. Secondly, the company is of equal or perhaps greater quality. I recieved my order very promptly and recieved a follow up email to see if I was satisfied with the product. You can't go wrong with these guys!

Unbelievable!

I bought my SCCY CPX2 for the price point and was not really pleased with the operation. The trigger pull was too heavy and the reset was awful. Everything else about the gun was great. I ordered the trigger spring kit hoping it would show some improvement and use the gun as a back up. After a very easy installation thanks to Youtube video by MCARBO I was absolutely shocked at the difference! The trigger was light and crisp, essential for a gun this size, and the reset was effortless and intuitive. This kit turned a so so budget gun into a smooth operator. It even corrected some FTF issues I had with the gun. If you have a CPX2, this is kit is essential, and for $20 it's the best value for price you'll ever get.

Unexpected great service.

In my original order review I stated that I had a problem with the replacement trigger return spring not resetting my trigger and that I had to revert to my original trigger return spring and gave them a 4 star review as a result. Using my original reset spring was not a big issue for me as the rest of the trigger kit worked as expected and I really didn't expect, nor ask, MCarbo to send another spring. However, much to my surprise, they did! Most places would have considered a small spring too trivial to mess with especially since I didn't request another one.

It's refreshing to see that there are still some places where great customer care is still a priority. 5 stars!

Update to earlier review

Review

So, my first review somehow screwed up and gave this 1 star when I meant to give it 4. There was no way to edit my review to fix it. Sorry!

Anyway, I’ve had a chance to fire my CPX-2 after my spring kit installation. It definitely reduced the trigger pull by about 3 to 4 lbs, making it easier to have better accuracy and shoot tighter groups.

My only complaint is the trigger spring made the reset way too light. So much so that I couldn’t feel it and had to hunt for it. I like to have a clear and defined reset, no matter how slight. Especially on a gun with this much trigger travel.

Therefore, I re-installed the original trigger spring, but left in the MCarbo firing pin and hammer spring. This seemed to work well and the reset is much better this way.

Other than that, the other two springs worked well and I am pleased with the results. I hammered a lot of rounds through this thing after the install and was able to keep a 3 inch group at 5 yards quick fire without trying too hard.

I’d buy this again!

Well lets start with my first review number 1 because on many no fires and a stuck trigger and a not happy with the 9lb to 7lb reduction. Now the good news after posting my review in about 3hr and this is not a story i received a call for M-CARBO and they talked and sent me a different trigger kit. I removed the springs and replaced with the new ones and trigger went from 9lb to 6lb and no none fires in the first 50 rd put down range . i do believe this company cares and are doing above the norm to help people get it DONE RIGHT. THANK YOU .

Great upgrade at a great price, and fairly easy to install with a little patience. The trigger pulls much better, and also helps the gun perform a little better.I already ordered the upgraded recoil spring to get better recoil.I'm ok with the trigger position,so I'll keep the factory plastic one.

I ordered this upgraded spring kit to lighten the trigger pull on my SCCY CPX-1,and I am not disappointed. It takes about half the force to pull the trigger now,and seems to perform slightly better when shooting.I would recommend this kit for anyone looking to upgrade their SCCY CPX models. It's a great investment. Now I want the upgraded recoil spring so it will perform even better at shooting.Thank you M*Carbo for these great upgrades.

My trigger pull was 7.2 lb before installing the trigger spring kit. After installing it was 5.12 lb. I checked the gun to make sure it was install correctly and it was. At the range I fired 50 rounds through it with 6 FTF rounds from the light hits that all 50 rounds had. I checked the trigger pull after the 50 rounds and it was 5.14 lbs. checked at home when coll and it was the same at 5.13 lbs. Very disappointed with the trigger pull and light hits.

Very easy, even for the novice!

Purchased this spring kit for my SCCY CPX2. The installation video was spot on! Just followed along on my laptop as I did the install. It went smoothly with no problems! Thanks M-Carbo!! Have a much easier and smoother trigger pull than factory springs. haven't been to the range yet, but I'm guessing it will help my groupings improve!! Thanks again.

Very good kit

I bought these springs a few months ago and am very happy with the results. The trigger feels noticeably lighter and smoother. After you install the triggers, I would suggest a long range trip though to work the springs in. I had a couple failures to feed, but that was it and then it continued to run flawlessly after that.

Very Good Uograde for your SCCY

Great inexpensive way to make a trigger pull difference. Don't expect to do it as fast as Chris does in the video, but easy to follow steps for a CPX-2.

Would be great if M*Carbo had a little snippet on how to deal with the Safety Lever on a CPX-1 when doing the trigger kit. That likely would be difficult for people with basic knowledge of firearms how to deal with during this modification,
