Super easy upgrade, now I have peace of mind knowing that I have tool steel bolt pins. Great company, fast shipping, super quality products.
Parts appear to be well made and installation was easy to do. I only have about 300 rounds through my pc but the pins were already showing wear and slight deformation. Unfortunate that Ruger could not but better parts in during manufacture. These new pins should hold up well.
Original pins were substandard and were pretty beat up with more than 200 rounds on them. I like the replacement guarantee. The install video made the installation easy. I'm anxious to see how these pins perform over time. If they do well the extractor will be my next purchase.

The instruction video makes it look so easy. It took me well over an hour of struggling (and sore fingers) to finally get the pin to seat correctly. I had to resort to using a horseshoe clamp with a fine shim to keep the new extractor in place while also using an allen key of similar size from the opposite side to try and further align the new extractor while pushing on the new extractor pin on the other side of the bolt. I finally felt a slight catch, but the pin wouldn't go any further. In the end I used my mallet to tap the pin in place. Even then it wouldn't seat completely but far enough not to cause any issues regarding clear operation. I did try the new pin in the bole and separately in the new extractor to make sure it would fit in both the bolt housing and the new extractor. All other installations of M*Carbo accessories were as smooth as butter and basically took less the a minute each. This new extractor pin was clearly a test of patience and finger endurance! The pin from Hell.
These pins just slip in and are a nice upgrade to longevity & performance. I noticed a little different sound when the bolt drops too, sounds like quality.
Not much to say about these, they are exact fit, simple installation.
Replaced all bolts. Simple install without special tools. Bolts are made from stronger steel than stock as well. Looking forward to taking the gun out to shoot with all the new parts on it. Still not tested
the stock pins were absolutely beat after a 100 rounds, as if i had put them in a vise and then spun a pair of locking pliers around them! What the hell ruger? you may not be the final word in fit and finish but you always overbuilt your guns in the past.
I ordered these because I was going to change the extractor, and figured, "What the heck I'll be in there anyway'" Then when I took the old pins out I was surprised at how worn the two pins were. If anyone is on the fence about getting these I recommend you do. Oh and the extractor is leaps and bounds better than stock.
Got these to swap out oem when I was doing the extractor. Simple and fast seems more robust
The factory parts already had some wear after ~300 warm to hot hand-loaded rounds. I replaced the extractor at the same time. Inspection of these Mcarbo replacement parts after another 300 rounds showed no observable wear. Note my factory extractor was working nominally when it was replaced.
The pins work as promised and installed in minutes. The videos help with any questions.
I’m writing one singular review for all of the internal upgrade parts I got, as it doesn’t really matter which is which. I upgraded to enhance the reliability of my personal favorite firearm, and altogether these parts did not disappoint. They really turn an already low recoil firearm into basically stable no matter the rate of fire. I’ve not had a single issue since replacing the factory parts. Good stuff.
