Feels like a different firearm now. Trigger pull substantially reduced and smoother firing.
I purchased the whole kit and watched the video to be certain I had it right. Great videos by the way. I finally got to the range today and I was very pleased. My groups were tighter. It fed and functioned perfect.
Installed lighter spring kit trigger and upgraded spring and guide rod. Started with needing a new guide rod spring and got the whole kit. After installing I was having trouble with the trigger resetting. Seems the lighter trigger cam spring did not have enough tension to hold the trigger bar against the frame tight enough to enable it to reset. Put the old trigger cam spring in and solved that issue. Haven't test fired it yet.
If you are a DIY guy or gal, you will have a ball and a smug look on your face because, it works and, it's fun! The trigger requires patience but is very doable, this is my second kit and each one was a tad different. My only ding would be, the slide return spring seems to be a bit short. So much so that when field stripping, it fell out once and was cattywumpas thereafter. Would I do it again.......YOU BETCHA!!!!!
This performance bundle does not work in my CPX-2. It seems to work fine when dry firing, but with live ammo you can't shoot more than 3 rounds without the trigger failing to reset. It made a terrible gun even worse. Had to remove the kit and restore the gun to it's original condition.
Great way to make a good gun better. Very easy to do with the help from the youtube video.
I ordered this kit as soon as I bought my CPX-2. The installation went off without a hitch except there were a few differences in my newly purchased CPX-2 but not a big deal. 1) The Trigger Bar on my CPX-2 does not have a slot for the trigger spring, there is an indentation in the frame where the spring is captured behind the trigger bar making it easier. 2) The roll pin attaching the hammer spring to the hammer is much smaller than what is shown in the video a 1/16 punch would not work. I was able to maneuver the Hammer Spring out without moving the roll pin. My trigger pull went from an average of 9 Lbs to 5 Lbs. This is also after some polishing in critical areas using some Flitz and Polishing bits. I put 100 rounds thru it with NO problems at all. I highly recommend this Performance Bundle. I am now confident in using my SCCY as an EDC.
The M*Carbo Performance Bundle works very well. I installed mine by just watching the YouTube channel and following the directions given in the video. The kit will work with the original trigger as well as the flat trigger that comes with the kit. I tried both and decided to go with the flat trigger with the over-travel adjustment screws installed. When I bought the CPX-2 I was a bit dismayed by the 8 pound trigger pull, but I liked the gun and the price was good. This performance bundle is one heck of an improvement over the 8 pound trigger pull and the trigger pull now feels much smoother and more consistent. I highly recommend this performance bundle!
A bit intimidating at first, but followed the installation video and everything went together without any problems.
As others have said, makes it a completely different firearm. I’m not a very “mechanical”kinda guy, and it was very easy to install. Make sure and put some loctite on the set screws for the trigger travel. I tried it without because I didn’t have any on hand and the rear one was gone after two magazines. Would definitely recommend. I’m not a huge fan of the gun, but this upgrade made it bearable. Groups are much tighter at 15-20 yds, and I’m squeezing ‘em off quicker. May just be my imagination, but the slide seems a bit easier to pull back as well. You won’t regret this purchase. Great company, great product. Side note: I was able to work around the safety, but if you have a CPX-1, you need a different top to remove it to get to the hammer. It was tough, but it can be done without removing the hammer. I wish it came with the tool for that. Not a complaint, I just didn’t realize it until I had everything else torn apart.
Followed the YouTube video instructions, easy peazy. Had a syringe on pure PTFE, lubricated the trigger bar chassis and hammer interfaces, as well as the firing pin and slide chassis. Sent 100 rounds of 124 gr down range. Noticed the snappiness was reduced. No dead trigger, the CPX2 earned a spot in my carry rotation. The quality of the parts exceeded the factory parts at a affordable price.
Completely worth it. My stock spring was pushing 10+ lbs. Also the recoil is pretty nasty i could never do double tap shots with any accuracy or speed. Now im keeping double shot groups of less than an 1" and overall group shot of 3". I i had to complain i wish that i didnt have to disassemble the gun the adjust trigger.
Made a heavy 9 lb trigger much better. I'm guessing about 5 lbs and smooth, really smooth. Haven't taken it to the range yet but expect it will be much better. When Chris said it's a bit of a challenge removing the two pins that hold the receiver in place he wasn't kidding. All the tap tap taps didn't budge it. Had to brake out the big hammer and start smacking the punch like I was driving in a framing nail. Took some really good whacks to start it . Only a few little marks to the frame. Bent the punch but got it all taken down and polished everything while it was apart. Glad I did the breakdown the day before the parts arrived . Putting it all back together was MUCH easier and faster than the takedown. All and all I am happy with the results and have to thank Chris and MCarbo for the Video . It was a time saver for sure.
I installed the guide rod assembly while at the range and it had an immediate positive impact. Much less muzzle flip and felt recoil was reduced. The original CPX-2 Gen 3 trigger allowed my finger to rub on the trigger guard causing a blister. After installing the new trigger that issue went away completely. I'm not sure the pre travel/over travel was really impacted much at all (mine was minimal already). I didn't install the lighter trigger spring assembly as I actually prefer the heavier revolver like trigger. I might buy a second CPX-2 and put it in that one. Installation is very easy if you follow the video instructions.
Trigger is much improved. Easily installed if you follow along with the video, even if you don't order the prison shank. Bench block is a good investment at low cost if you don't have one. Should have bought this kit sooner!
Overall, this package made a noticeable difference in the performance of my SCCY CPX-1. Cleaner trigger pull, and reduced muzzle flip. I ended up taking the trigger return spring out and using the original, as it was a little too light to consistently reset the trigger.
